Further drivel!

WARNING! SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES, SO IF YOU SEE AN ANIME YOU DON'T KNOW HERE AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN AS THOUGH ALICE WERE SPEAKING NONSENSICALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Serial Experiments Lain, X, Yu-Gi-Oh! - Disturbed – “Remember” – everyone EXCEPT Lain, everyone EXCEPT Kamui and Fuma, Mokuba and Seto Kaiba – I can’t help it; this is one of my top ten favorite songs of all time from my favorite band EVER. This song just works for these three shows on SO many levels. The thing I would like best to see in this video would probably be Seto and Mokuba and their past/how they got to be the people they currently are in the series. The song is all about escaping one’s own past and one’s own tormented thoughts. Come to think of it, the song would work great for Seto’s Egyptian past, in addition to his and his brother’s situation five thousand years later.
Serial Experiments Lain – A Perfect Circle – “The Outsider (Resident Renholder Mix)” – the people of the Wired – add another one to the list of Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack songs I’ve been suggesting! You might notice that I didn’t give a character suggestion exactly, but more of a generalization for a group of people. If you listen to the song, though, you’ll also notice that the lyrics really apply to that group of people more than just one person. The song has a kind of strange, mysterious vibe to it. Also, particularly near the end of it, the song has like built-in computer-glitchy noise. That’s another reason that I thought this would make a great Serial Experiment Lain video. It just SOUNDS like something that should belong with that anime. This video would be a great potential “tell-the-main-character’s-story-through-side-characters” kind of an AMV. Actually, a lot of Serial Experiments Lain videos seem to have that potential. Then again, maybe it’s just me...
Well, that's all for today, boys and girls.
As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

*throws something against her wall*
You know what I hate? I'll tell you. I hate it when I type up a really long post for someone else's thread, go to submit it, and it doesn't work. So, I lose my whole post - a post that I usually worked about thirty minutes to an hour to perfect. As you might guess, that just happened to me. So, I guess I'm not going to help someone who wanted anime and music suggestions for their video concept. Now I feel like throwing something against a wall.
Anyway, I guess I should give you people what you came here for, right? Also...
WARNING! SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES, SO IF YOU SEE AN ANIME YOU DON'T KNOW HERE AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN AS THOUGH A SPLIT-PERSONALITY NUTCASE WERE STALKING YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angelic Layer – Dashboard Confessional – “Screaming Infidelities” – Tamayo and Kotarou – this song would probably have to be cut down because of the sheer lack of footage of the situation. On a basic level, this song works very well for Tamayo’s relationship with Kotarou; really, she just loves him and wants him to love her back, but he has a crush on Misaki. The song is about that exact situation. A guy is in love with this girl and she likes someone other than him. The only difference between the song and anime situation is that the genders are switched.
Ah! My Goddess, Angel Sanctuary, Chobits, Kare Kano, Love Hina, X, Yami no Matsuei - Pink – “Split Personality” – Morgan, Kurai, Hibiya, Tsubasa, Motoko, Shinobu, Hinoto, Tsubaki – this song hasn’t been done yet. All of these girls, or any combination of them, have something in common – they all lead a sort of double life. Morgan is posing as a human and trying to get close to Keiichi, Kurai is making everyone think she is a “he,” Hibiya is really a lab worker who became a landlady, Tsubasa is...well, cute and crazy, so she probably fits this song best, Motoko is caught between being a warrior and being a lady, Shinobu is trying to be the good girl, but she’s really upset with her life situation, Hinoto...well, anyone who knows the series would understand her “split personality,” and Tsubaki believes that she is another person when she takes Muraki’s medication for her. So, this song’s lyrics make almost perfect sense to many of the girls on a general level.
I wonder if anyone is actually following this thread anymore. It's been some time since anyone other than me posted. Then again, maybe you're all just busy making videos. That would make me happy. ^_^
As my ethics code dictates: "Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!"

I've been following the thread, I just know a very small percentage of the animes you suggest, and even fewer the music.
Here's my latest addition for the Side Character Challenge! http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=50239 It's an anime I'd guess most of you are unfamiliar with, but hopefully you can enjoy it. There's a few things here and there I might be conflicted with, and I always appreciate feedback. Thanks!

Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

Can't believe it took me this long...
I have an idea! I'll admit, though, it's one that I should have come up with a long time ago. I've noticed that a lot of people who have replied to this thread have said that they like the whole side character video concept, but that they don't know many/any of the anime I've listed. How about this then: post on this thread a list like I did of every anime you have seen. List the main characters so everyone knows who NOT to use, and also make note of any characters you think should be avoided (if they border on being a main character.) If you think there is an overdone concept (such as Eva battles from NGE or gunfights in Noir) be sure to list those too as something to be forbidden or avoided. A link to a video demonstrating a good side character AMV of that/those anime wouldn't be bad either, but it's not necessary. If you do include a link, though, try to mention if the video contains spoilers.
Maybe this way there will be more inspiration and possibilities. Don't get me wrong - I am still very partial to seeing videos from anime I recognize, but I will watch ones that I don't know as well. Okay, this next part is going to sound very picky, but I say this for everyone else's sake, not my own...
When you list an anime and its main characters, try to do it in this fashion:
[Anime] - NO [character] or ANY [overdone concept]
Remember, I'm not asking for this format just because I'm being particular; I'm asking for it for the sake of reading ease. Having everything lumped together in one big paragraph makes getting your point across more difficult. Trust me - it'll be easier on everyone this way.
When posting the list, try to take note of anyone who may have posted before you. After all, it would be pointless to list the same anime twice - especially if the main character list conflicts.
One more thing: anyone following this thread will have noticed by now the duo of suggestions I like to tack on to my posts. I would also welcome these as well. More than anything, I just want to get people involved in this challenge. I want to stretch the creative limits of AMVs and I can't do that alone. So, please, help me out! It's always appreciated. ^_^
From atop mountains I shout: "Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!"

"Hey, I've got you..."
I've been super-busy lately, so I haven't had the chance to post at all. Of course, no one has posted back to me either, but I like to keep this thread alive and kicking, you know? Although I do have more AMV thoughts concerning the Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack, I haven't typed them up yet. Therefore, I'm not going to have any more of those for a while. For now, I'm sifting through old ideas that I typed up, but didn't post. So, here they are! Also...
WARNING! SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES, SO IF YOU SEE AN ANIME YOU DON'T KNOW HERE AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN LIKE MARIK HAD JUST DECIDED TO TAKE YOUR SOUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yu-Gi-Oh! – Chobits OST – “Ningyo Hime (2nd ending theme)” – the whole crew minus Yami – this is a song all about searching for a special person, so it would lend itself very nicely to the concept of Yugi and his bond with his friends that is always so emphasized throughout the whole series. During the various dream sequences and experiences in the Shadow Realm, there is a lot of footage to be found about that bond of friendship. If you’ve seen Chobits, then you know that song is really more oriented towards a naive romance, but if you check out the lyrics (on www.animelyrics.com) you’d notice that the song could be about friendship quite easily.
Angelic Layer OR Yu-Gi-Oh! – Spirited Away – “Chihiro’s Waltz” – okay, I know that someone’s been waiting for this...Jen’s Ultra-Fluffy-Cutsie-To-The-Max Friendship Idea! Both Angelic Layer and Yu-Gi-Oh! have major friendship issues. Well, Yu-Gi-Oh! more so than Angelic Layer, but still...I think that a super fluffy video could be made with this song and either anime. I would really rather someone used one anime or the other, not both. The song is very cute, and I think that either Hatoko’s obsession with her pinky promise with Misaki, or Tea’s (Anzu if you’re going Japanese) whole constant cheerleading thing would be great base concepts for this video.
Well, that's all I have for now. I have to get around to making more idea suggestions. I haven't been brainstorming enough lately. I feel like I'm not making much sense at the moment, so I'll leave it at that.

An idea hit me just today - mebbe it'll work - mebbe I'll take it at some point. If someone beats me to it, so be it.
Yu-Gi-Oh - "Obsession" - the opening theme to .Hack//Sign. This is an Ishizu profile. She does do a bit of causing headaches to Yugi and Kaiba, and then shows them "the direction of relieving" it!

"In the night I realize this infection..."
Brownie points to anyone who knows what the subject line of my post is from! (Two hints: it's one English line from a beautiful Japanese song, and it is NOT from an anime. Buena suerte! ^_^)
Okay, just kidding. I'm not really expecting anyone to try and guess the song, but it's a cute thought. Well, I suppose that I should post more of my suggestions like a good girl, but first...
pinky - can't say that I've heard of that song, but my sister is into .Hack, so I'll ask her about it. Hey, as long as I don't have to see Yami or Duel Monsters, I'm all for ANY Yu-Gi-Oh! video concept.
So, here are the suggestions, but these are more of the older ones that I've typed up but never posted. Also...
WARNING! SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES, SO IF YOU SEE AN ANIME YOU DON'T KNOW HERE AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN AS IF YOU HAD JUST GOTTEN ON GENDO IKARI'S HIT LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Trigun, Serial Experiments Lain, Yami no Matsuei, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Angel Sanctuary, Fruits Basket, Gravitation - Marilyn Manson – “Angel with the Scabbed Wings” - Kaworu, Gendo Ikari, Knives, Deus, Muraki, Noah, Kira, Akito, Kitazawa Yuki – this is another one of those songs that would work great with just one character or all of them. Knives, Deus, and Muraki would be particularly good for this song. I can’t explain this song too well; I think you’d just need to listen to it. It is a very bitter and rough song, with religious allusions in it.
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Yami no Matsuei - Tartini – “Devil’s Trill” – Evangelion’s storyline, The Devil’s Trill arc storyline – anyone who has seen either of these two anime could probably recall that there was large emphasis on classical music in both. For Evangelion, the emphasis came mostly near the last few episodes. For YnM, the emphasis was mostly during The Devil’s Trill arc. I think a video that highlighted this quality in both of the anime would be interesting. Of course, there would be no main characters allowed. That probably wouldn’t affect the YnM section much, but the Evangelion half of the video would become much more difficult under those circumstances. There is also a Vanessa Mae version of this song for those looking for a more upbeat tone to the song. The Tartini version that I have is nearly 7 minutes, so undertaking that version would be a challenge, indeed.
You know, I don't know why I never posted that first one. The idea is great, I think. Actually, I'm not too hot on the song; it's okay, but I don't have a lot of Marilyn Manson songs that I'm "borderline" on. Either I like them a lot, or I think that they're complete crap. "Angel with the Scabbed Wings" is one of the rare Manson songs that I'm on the fence about.
Anyway, I don't have too many more suggestions prepared, so I guess I should really get working on typing those up (as if I haven't said that enough times already... ^_^;; )
"Hike up your skirt a little more and show your 'Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing' to me..."

PS: I just remembered. I completely forgot to do an essay that is due first hour tomorrow...well that's craptastic... v_v

Okay, I WILL do this tonight...
I feel very...slack...ya know? Like I haven't been paying enough attention to my thread lately. Then again, that could be because I've been on X TV fanfic/AMV downloading tangent. I'm pretty sure I even neglected my homework in favor of that a few times now. Well, I'm back, and someone submitted a NEW VIDEO to me! *does the got-an-AMV happy dance* So, I guess I'll get to that...
AMV_4000 - wow...*stares in awe at the number of videos created by this one person*...you must really be a fan. Anywho, that was a GREAT video. Really, really great. I was wondering - did you cut the song down? If so, then I couldn't tell where. It seemed really short, but I don't know for sure cuz I've only heard the song a few times. Also, I liked how you stayed very consistent with your effects - namely, the grayscaling and the distortion. Not only were your effects consistent, but your editing style was too. You chose a fast-paced style for this song, which could have gone disastrously. I have seen many videos where the creator just got lazy and went from a good fast style to long, uninspired scenes. Thankfully, you aren't one of them. I haven't seen Steel Angel Kurumi, so I don't know, but it looked like you repeated some scenes. If that is true, then I wanted to mention that I don't think it matters in this case. Because of the lack of footage and the way you edited it, I don't mind seeing the same scene at all. Your video was very good, even if I haven't seen the anime, and I'm glad that you submitted it! Thank you very very much! By my guidelines, I would likely give it a 9.5 out of 10. In other words, an Awesome video.
Hey, I have a new favorite side character video (for the time being,) not to mention a new favorite song! The video (and song) is X TV and Tokyo Babylon - Nine Inch Nails - "All that Could Have Been." The video doesn't have much in the way of effects, but the scene selection, timing, and placement were all so good that I didn't care one whit about that. Of course, I am slightly biased toward any Subaru/Seishirou videos. They ARE my two favorite anime characters of all time, you know. Still, the video was good, and any X fan (or angst fan, I guess ^_^;;) should check it out. On a scale of one to ten (and taking into account my guidelines, had it been judged for that purpose) I would probably give it an 8.
Well, that's enough rambling. On to the suggestions! This time I thought I might delve into my new interest: Dance Dance Revolution! Yeah, yeah, I know. There's lots of DDR stuff out there, but remember this: I do research on every idea to make sure it hasn't been done before. Also, if there is a lot of one particular song, I often rethink the idea. Notice Exhibit A - though I very much like the bands, I have suggested neither Evanescence nor Linkin Park. Now, if a brilliant idea for one of their songs struck me, I might consider that, but I have more or less avoided the popular stuff, save one or two suggestions I've made. Anywho, these next couple posts are pretty much all gonna be DDR music. So...
WARNING! SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES, SO IF YOU SEE AN ANIME YOU DON'T KNOW HERE AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN AS IF YOU HAD JUST UNLOCKED A SONG THAT RUNS AT 350BPM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
X TV – Dance Dance Revolution - No. 9 - “End of the Century” – I can see a somewhat silly action video to this song. Everything would be moving at double speed and Hinoto would be narrating, particularly in the last verse. I hate to say it, but I think this video would be A LOT of mindless action – not that I mind! I like mindless action, so long as it is edited well. X was the first thing I thought of when I heard this song (along with Eva, but there’s already a video to that...) so I’m really stuck to this idea.
Yu-Gi-Oh! – Dance Dance Revolution - TaQ – “Era (Nostalmix)” – Kaiba, Mokuba – this is, by far, one of my stranger ideas. Basically, I imagined a high-powered storytelling video. Since the song is so short, you’d probably want to just focus on one part of Kaiba’s story. I came up with three basic areas in Kaiba’s story. First, his Egyptian past – you remember when Ishizu showed Kaiba his ancient past? That and his reaction to it is the first idea. Second, his feud with Pegasus – I would include everything from when Mokuba was kidnapped to when Kaiba lost his soul. Third, when Pegasus and co. were trying to find/kill Kaiba back in Duelist Kingdom – that whole sequence of events, beginning with Kaiba realizing people were after him, and ending with him escaping Pegasus’ cronies just as Mokuba is being kidnapped. Like I said, this idea is weird, but it really stuck with me once I thought it up. Hey, if I was randomly told to pick a song to symbolize both a mysterious Egyptian sorcerer and a corporate prick, THIS is definitely the song I would pick. Also, if you want to be really adventurous, you could try the “step mix” version of this song (which is a little faster, I think, and much more ‘hardcore,’ so to speak) or the full version (which is about four minutes long.) One last thing: “Era” is VERY challenging because it has A LOT of off beats in it.
Geez, that second one was longer than I thought. Well, I got nothin' else right now. So, I'll see ya!
All that could have been was "Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!"

PS: I really suck at Fatal Frame, ya know? It's much harder than the second game!
