You know it'll be fun when we're all 80 and we look back and go

"hey, we usta have to edit with COMPUTERS! ...it took SEVERAL HOURS! ...we didn't have any of this newfangled neural network non linear editing you kids use...we didn't use our hyppocampus to generate badass effects... we had to edit that stuff with our HANDS...and a KEYBOARD"

of course, when all of you are 80 I'll be dead :|

Probably more detrimental to this (or any) hobby is the time and commitments piled onto you as you get older. Trying to balance between family, house, work, kids, bills, etc and finding some quality hours to edit an amv is usually an exercise in frustration. Harder still is finding the time to watch anime for sources to inspire your amv ideas.

Ok iam 22 and some people ask me if iam not to old for this, also Anime and Manga. But who is to old to have a hobby or make creativ things? You can never be to old for some hobbys. Only if you think you are to old.

I think this sums up the real reason editors quit, not the "I'm getting too old... it's time to grow up" excuse.

When I was 15 the first VCR for home use had been in the market only 2 years ...

Hobbies (amv editing, knitting, learning a new language, etc.) are supposed to help keep my brain from rotting completely. Or are the amvs speeding up the rotting?

At any rate, whatever keeps me occupied and NOT focused on my stress-filled days of work is good for me

Wow :o the first time i feel younger..
I'm only 17 but since I look 14 or 15 people are always telling me I seem old
Even the yoga guy said i had an old soul :(
'what the heck? you're telling me that my soul already lived a couple times? so technically i'm one of the oldest people around T-T ... but i don't want to grow up..'
Well now i'm happy :D if i can grow up, without 'growing up' maybe its not so painful
as for the question, well since i'm only starting to try to make amv's i can't say, but i think that since on the internet you can be anonymous your age can be too *shrug* i guess
