Both good and bad are completely subjective and cannot be used to define "art"JaddziaDax wrote:bad amvs are like kindergarten finger paintings...

And yet you can't use anything completely objective to "define" art.Fall_Child42 wrote: Both good and bad are completely subjective and cannot be used to define "art"

yet there are certain amvs that are almost universally accepted as being better than others. There must be some amount of objectivity. Even if things like personal tastes differ within that spectrum.Fall_Child42 wrote:Vivaldi wrote:So only good amvs are art?

"almost" "Universally accepted"Vivaldi wrote: yet there are certain amvs that are almost universally accepted as being better than others. There must be some amount of objectivity. Even if things like personal tastes differ within that spectrum.
you see these words make for weak arguments.
Just because a particular style is fashionable and a large group of people think that this fashionable style is better than other fashionable styles does not make it so.
Taste is purely subjective. The experiences and ideas of the individual will change how anything is viewed.
There is no objectivity because nothing can be defined as being "good" or "better" in the world of AMVs nor can these things be measured.

So, anyone starve themselves or deprive themselves of sleep (a.k.a. go without something important to them) to make AMVs?
