Top 5 songs an AMV will never use...

Well, there's never a never in AMVing, but out of the ones I know, the least likely one would be...
King Crimson - Improv: ZoomZoom (full length)
44 minutes of improv from Germany in 1972 that exists only in low-quality audience recording. It's still very much sought after by fans, and has been released officially...
It's awesome music, but I don't think anyone, myself included, would ever consider using even a small segment of it due to the quality problem - forget the whole length!

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

You could still do it, only it may not be considered very good. For example, there is an AMV with the song Sir Mix-A-Lot - Baby Got Back. But the entirety of the amv is just a woman walking and the camera looking at her from behind in a continuous loop so it looks like she's going down an endless tunnel. Top marks for originality but little else.Bicycle - by Queen would be hard. How many bicycle clips are there out there?
Same could apply with the bycicle theme heh.

Actually, I can already think of several anime titles with bicycles involved, so not all is lost. I think it can easily be done, especially given that the song doesn't consist of nothing but bicycles to beging with.

Re: Lets see
I'd say the point of these bad AMV songs are those that are too short/long to do anything feasible with, and those so badly recorded the music is practically inaudable.wiserd wrote:Well, what makes for a bad AMV song? Anything too horrible would be doable, just for the shock value. You'd need somthing that both has a really weak beat and a subject that couldn't be played off of.
I'm gonna get onto those S.O.D. AMVs I think!

Blood Sweat and Tears did this in the early 70's, I think, It was names Symphony for the Devil - Sympathy for the devil. I don't know if it's a cover of the Stones because I don't know when they did theirs. This version is about 10 minutes long, BST had great music with it, If you get a chance to hear it, it's on the Blood Sweat and Tears III album.flint_the_dwarf wrote:oldwrench wrote:Ok, I can think of plenty. You probably have never heard of them.
If that's what I think it is, it's a Rolling Stones cover. And it should never be discounted for an AMV. Hell, I'm sure many have considered and done Paint it Black AMVs with covers, and there's no reason not to do this one.Blood Sweat and Tears - Symphony for the Devil
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Music NOT to do AMV's to ...

I *ANIMATED* six elements, does that count?
( H N O S Ti and Zr.)
Meanwhile, no one will ever do an anime to ALL of Richard Rodgers' "Victory at Sea," or R. Wagner's ENTIRE Ring Cycle. ("I must kill the wa-a-a-bit / wiff my spear and magic heeew-met" came close at around 14 minutes, though.)
John Cage's music would also totally SUCK, as would Edgar Varese, traditional New England whaling songs and sea santies.
Religious music: Gregoiran chant probably wouldn't work even if you understood the Latin. You would also need heavy and highly recreational drugs to make it through Japanese animation set to Guillaume de Machaut's 'Messe de Notre Dame' - it's so half-Arabic (he lived at the same time of Ibn Kaldun, so there you go...) although recently a couple of folks have attempted bits of Verdi's 'Requiem.' Handel's 'Messiah' would also be, um, 'out there...'
Lastly, French Canadian jigs and reels. Interesting cultures when taken separately, Japan and New France (Quebec 1759) but yikes, what's the connection? Maple syrup on your mochi? Katanas and hydropower?

You know, when Azul said that, I immideately thought of your vid too.
I'd actually like to see that many elements done in the same way as you did
