Or really cool depending on your point of view. (For people like me that think anime, AMV's and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are really cool.)Bulghod wrote:Just for the record:
When you're on an forum about making anime music videos while talking about a small part of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy You're a dork, no matter what age you are.

...
I've always been interested in music video making for many years. Back in college (early 90s), I tried making a Gundam AMV (not even realizing there was such a thing as AMVs back then) using two VCRs and a fader. It sucked badly but I had fun trying to make it. I then got a PowerMac and a Videospigot cheap and made some super short videos (non-anime) without any audio (due to lack of hard drive space and processing power). However, I learned about fading and some basic digital effects.
Fast forward 10 years and I now have the hardware/software to try and realize my passion for making videos (AMVs and whatever else). I'm pretty excited that there is a forum for these things today and that there are so many people that are into it. I just came back from AnimeBoston and it was great to see how many people came to check out the videos people have made. Call it dorky if you want. I call it cool.
BTW, I'm in my early 30s.

Actually, more like 40...Kaji01 wrote:Isn't Vlad P. (forgot his last name, did "In the Navy", amongst other things) well into his 30s? Lord knows he's been doing AMVs since around the time I was born, and I'm closing in on 22...
Anyway, why they hell would anyone give up something they enjoy as a hobby regarless of age! Hobbies can be enjoyed at any age!
What's really sad is that people seem to think that they must give up things as they get older as they are only for the young to enjoy ... That's a bunch of bull and gives way to the saying "grump old people"!
Age is both a physical and mental thing and if you act and believe your too old, them you ARE old
