+1:imphill wrote:But i already told them this in another thread(no hyperls here), i REALLY hate that some of the AMV's are none downloadable. I think of you can't download them then they should be deleleted its taking up space.
This site is meant, first and foremost, to be a catalogue of all AMVs ever made (or close to it).
Hosting the videos is of only secondary importance. The information is more important than an actual download link.
And how much space do you think each video database entry actually takes up?
There is at least one video in my profile that I will never release for public download. I have my reasons for that. But site policy dictates that I still have to list it anyway in order to be eligible for the VCAs, so I do.
With older videos, oftentimes the reason they're not available for download is that no digital copy of the video was ever made in the first place.

I find it strange how threads are closed when they're over the peak, it's not like nothing interesting might ever come up. Why not just delete the countless pages of old threads instead. I trust very few people are in the habit of checking what's going on on page 28.

one thing that really bugs me...is how this site is run like its some sort of official government.
I really hate how serious some of the things become on the .org
in the end this is just a fan site. a community forum board with people who donate money to use server space to host AMVs.
it just seems so political sometimes, and that some things can't be taken lightly or in jest.
I used to post all the time on this site, but now, I rarely view maybe 2-3 sections...
I find it more fun to make amvs and show them to my general friends rather than post and discuss them on this site.

i do that anyways. i just post them here so other people can get an idea of what i like to do. the opinions and star averages are just a bonus. when someone recognize my work its a good thing so i show it to my friends but they are biased most of the time and my betas are just a few people. by puting it in front of the masses i figure out what i am really worth. i dont care if its the worst video on the site at least someone took the time to give it an all 1 opinionSnhKnives wrote:I find it more fun to make amvs and show them to my general friends rather than post and discuss them on this site.
