It wouldn't be allowed. The rules about video game music videos state that they must be from games that are Japanese in origin and must be comprised mostly of cutscenes, rather than gameplay footage. Therefore, such a video wouldn't fulfill either requirement.

The vid wouldn't contain any footage from the game, it would just be me dancing just like they do in the game.

Oh, entirely live-action. That's also not allowed to be uploaded.

But as I said I'd add some animated effects. It's all hypothetical. I just don't see what that nin video I linked to is doing up here, apparently it's perfectly ok for it to be here.

I never said that, I just said that it was animated o.0 and I thought it was neat :)

Geez you guys are confusing. Anyway, thanks Kalium, glad to be able to help make amv a slightly sleeker place.

JaddziaDax wrote:My Husband made PlayLog.amv he likes that industrial stuff, but its Peter Gabriel - Signal to Noise to a series called BLAME! which I think might interest you.... look it up in the super search (anime)

my other suggestion is to look up the recommended forum.
Jaddzia - just downloaded the vid of your husbands and even though it's the longest and slowest vid I've sat thru in its entirety, it was a GREAT vid. Makes me want to see BLAME just to see what was going on. Major kudos to your husband on this work!

and back on topic - I just read this post pretty much from start to finish and I think that the initial post didn't quite come across as a 'request for suggestions of non-superflashy amv's to watch' - rather it seemed like 'all amvs suck because etc etc" hence the harsh responses by some members. As I believe that many have already stated, there are a plethora of choices in the AMV world - from effects driven fast paced action to slow sentimental favorites to the just plain weird. I know it does seem like a waste of time to just download videos at random so to speak, but there really is probably someting out there that meets your tastes.

oh, in answer to your 'videotaping yourself dancing etc' question, I'd think that that would be a 'no' from the mods. The A in AMV is for anime (not animated, or whatever), so that would have to be the primary source of your video :D

and yes, it this does interest you, you too can make a vid yourself so you can see the type of video you'd want to see - as you'd be making it yourself! This site is a great resource for information and most are very helpful here too.

I hope you find more of what you're looking for here.

I tried my attempt....
