I am aware that there are tricks, but it makes it a little harder for those who don't know them, and if they have enough knowledge to know the tricks then they should have enough knowledge to create their own movies. I have downloaded movies from this site and the quality to some of them were not any better, the quality on mine are pretty good considering its streaming, and I did have mine downlable at one time, but got tired of people complaining about wait time, I was not aware of this site at the time, and besides I do not just make anime videos, so I still need a place for the others. I extract my FF movies, and ones that I have made from downloads do not have divx symbols in them or any symbols, please people do not treat me like I am ignorant as stated in another post, just because I am new does not make me ignorant, I know how to make good quality FMV's and how to extract some things and cut symbols out of divx and things as that, and I really do not see why people are so against youtube. It may explain why my movies are getting ignored.

i love it when people "argue" quality with me especially when pertaining to youtube... "but theres just as bad videos here as there is there" thats so not what im saying... youtube DEGRADES THE QUALITY of GOOD VIDEOS! haha... i dont like what the tube does to my videos... once again my videos are much higher ql than the tube will ever put out. EVER!
(the tube will also sometimes completely unsync the audio so it looks like the editing is kinda bad I HATE THAT.)
the site has its functions... I wont argue that... I actually upload my vids just for the exposure factor, and the fact i do have a few subscribers that will on occasion ask for a new vid... (so i also expanded into video blogs as well) I also have "non anime" music videos... so i wont argue that point... its a great place for exposure... but i also have off site hosting (that is not on the tube) for people who wish to download them.
streaming has its drawbacks: like bandwidth... i believe i have read that streaming was an option for the org at one point but they turned it down because of the high bandwidth it would need to sustain such. download is alot more practical than streaming for the long run for the site itself...
I'm not treating anyone like a n00b I'm just stating my side of the "argument" I still hate the idea of "i have to be online to stream this vid whenever i want to watch it..." and i like the idea of "i can save this to disc or my ipod or whatever and take it with me where ever i go, and i only need to visit a page once to get the video i want"
if you are going to take an online "forum debate" so personally then its not my fault... you pointed out that people cant download from the tube, i pointed out that they can... and some people who have figured out how to rip off of the tube HAVE stolen footage (or atleast i have heard of it)... O.o these people probably dont know "where to download their clips from" so they use what option is aparent to them.
i never mentioned your "prowess" in removing watermarks or subtitles O.o i dont know why you even bring that up.. O.o i didnt attack your "n00bness" in any way, I was just stating what i know and some of my reasons i dont like the tube...
how about this reason:
whenever someone leaves a comment it feels like falce praise. cause they are one huge "support group" that does nothing but praise each other.. it feels really hollow... seriously... I actually know a couple of people who have come over to the org cause they dont want to be praised all the time, they actually want constructive critizim, and want to improve in their hobby and not be praised all the time... its refreshing to come across people like that especially on the tube... especially in the "AMV Community"
all I'm saying is dont limit yourself to that site... theres other ways out there to get your video out.

Oh I agree, I do not look to the tube for feedback, I use sims99 for that, but I did come here for the anime factor of this site, as I love mainly Final Fantasy stuff, and I do like truthful critisism, I was not meaning to argue so much, just saying that I do know people can get movies off the tube but alot of people would not be as aware of that.
I actually have one movie that I downloaded of someone that I saved, as was glad that I could, as it is the movie that made me interested in Final Fantasy, made me fall inlove with it is a better way to put it, so I understand your point about the download ability. If I actually became an excepted member of a site such as this that is strictly for AMV's then I would upload my videos to be downloaded.
I just got tired of the 99 members getting upset over download time because my files were so large, as I make sure the films are big in size and of best quality, therefore making fairly big files. That is the main reason I switched to streaming, is because I can not aford a personal website that provides that much bandwidth, and sites like save file and rapid share and so on, can be really slow and a pain.
As far as the watermark thing, I just don't like them
