why is metal almost nonexistent in amvs?

1505 - Disturbed
1123 - Nightwish
953 - Korn
889 - Metallica

Those all sound kinda mettalish to me. Evanescence and Nightwish are metal bands I think

Evanescence is basically what nightwish would be if it wasn't metal. I think Linkin Park doesn't really fall into that category either, The only ones of those I actually don't like are Korn and SoaD.

Linkin Park- (Nu metal)-(Early material)
Evanescence-(Symphonic alternative metal)
SOAD- (Nu metal)
Nightwish- (Symphonic power metal)

Disturbed- (Alternative metal, heavy metal, nu metal)
Metallica-( Thrash metal, speed metal, heavy metal,)

It's a matter of perception.

I would categorise them all as Rock bands, with an exception to Metallica's early days, which during the time would definitely have been metal, but the newer stuff in this day and age is ultimately rock.
