It took months for me to get around to actually showing my dad. My brother is in my generation so I showed him the whole process. I use my friends to beta and they are pretty supportive. I showed my dad a couple of ones I had to youtube. One was MeriC's "One Guitar" (since he plays guitar), and then JubJub's "Word Play" since it has Speed Racer, which my dad grew up on. He understands that it probably takes a while to polish your skills at this and he actually thinks people use good songs. He had only heard Kanye West's "Stronger" and then when he heard Daft Punk's original, he liked that one even better. So it was just appealing from multiple perspectives.

My mom is like "well that's....nice" she's seen my tons and tons of betas and likes them, my dad on the other tells me I'm too old to watch anime and always talks about his editor friend, trying to get me to get into general film editing (which is veeeery boring btw). My friends for the most part don't care, but if I bring it up they shake their head in shame as a "i'm really friends with somebody that makes videos with anime?" about three of my friends are actually interested in anime but only one is interested in this community.

My parents watch anime so they're completly ok with me making AMV's. Its more or less the community, the you know "ghetto." 80% of the united states. Where terrible songs are the median, and people try to sound like they have a speech problem. So I always got ridiculed for liking anime or "that chinese ****." ofcourse this kinda changed when Naruto came out
So I guess Naruto isn't all that bad...

Hey, I was a Narutard myself up until recently and I've been an anime fan for 13 years. I can understand the appeal (for part 1 anyway...), but that only applies to the subs. I don't think I could tolerate the dub much.AaronAMV wrote:I know you put the rolling your eyes emote... But really?ShatteredFoX wrote:ofcourse this kinda changed when Naruto came out
The only way I figure people liking Naruto is that they haven't seen any other anime. :/

My mom likes AMV's, she actually showed me my first AMV in 2000. Now, she doesn't watch them, but is still open-minded about them. My sister use to make AMV's, but I guess she doesn't care to make them now. As for my friend's, they use to really like them and be pretty supportive, but now most of them find AMV's and anime childish(they suck) .

well you did kinda hit the nail on the head. Thought for people who were so anti-anime, I am still curious on what made them decide to actually try watching Naruto?AaronAMV wrote:I know you put the rolling your eyes emote...
