all of my old videos are listed and uploaded :/ including my first amv.
there's only two videos I never released and one isn't considered an amv due to care bears not being anime..
thats not counting the music videos I made using live footage of my sister's kids, those videos weren't meant for "public consumption" they were meant for my sisters and her kids.

that's not it at all, at least not for me. it's that everyone follows or moves toward the same standard so it gets boring.BasharOfTheAges wrote:In a nut-shell a small group of visible people are beginning to feel like the standards they're being held to are too high and they're just burnt out.

Why can't people let go of the beat for once?

Skipping a beat is easy and having it still be good. Focus on another element that's going on. If it's the only real element there hit the god damn beat.Castor Troy wrote:x2downwithpants wrote:that's not it at all, at least not for me. it's that everyone follows or moves toward the same standard so it gets boring.BasharOfTheAges wrote:In a nut-shell a small group of visible people are beginning to feel like the standards they're being held to are too high and they're just burnt out.

Like lets say, try to focus on how something is vocalized and not what the singer is actually saying but still have it in context. If you can't find a scene that fit's it.. make it fit by changing up the colors a bit or adding an effect that will match the mood right.
I edit old school because I don't like to put the effort in for the effects.. isn't non effects considered old school? And what is old school exactly? I've seen many old videos from back in 2000 that focus on every beat and I've seen videos missing all the beats but matching the mood right. My definition of old school is no effects or making a typical DBZ action video. If anyone wants to be old school, go do that.
Or F being old school.. do something different, out of the ordinary and not the typical shit. Pull a flux and add some actual intense anger emotion in a video or make a video that has mouth movements match elements in the audio that do not come from lyrics or the vocalist screaming. That sounds fun to me.
Why do things need to be particular? Just be imaginative and start creating shit. Do you guys think you are directors with pressure from fans and expect your work to stay the same or go up in quality? Stop being pussies and create something that isn't just made to show off that you know how to do effects or that you can beat an earlier work of yours. Pussies I say.
