He didnt actualy post the pic, he simply hot linked to a funny picture from SomthingAwful.com that he wanted to share, but that was right after SA had put up their new (and rather terrible) anti leech protocol.RadicalEd0 wrote:eh..? when did ermac post that I know temjin did, but ermac? oh well.
anyway Koop and AD both brought up excellent points, and both were right, its all a matter of scenario.
As for cons... im definitely going to otakon next year no question if it means I'll get to meet all you people. That would be very very cool.
Ugh, I remember the day they did that well, twas truely a dark dark day on every forum known to man
Sorry to stray off topic guys, I just didnt feel sombody should have a partial understanding of the situation and give Ermac shit for it.

AbsoluteDestiny wrote:That sounds correct in theory but in practice it doesn't hold true. I've thought bad things about people based on what I've seen online and then met them to realise that I was just misinterpreting them. It's not about showing respect, it's about actually understanding them. I think this is a key issue. What we say can easily be misconstrued but when you meet someone in real life it is much easier to judge their character.Koopiskeva wrote:I don't want to sound all cynical, but the truth is, what we say online actually holds more truth than what we say in 'reality' so to speak. When a person speaks to someone in real life, most try to show respect and don't try to show what they are really thinking.
You can't really judge a book by its cover. Just because you meet someone for a few days, doesn't mean you understand them. Everyone has issues. People can put on masks for a few days, weeks or even years to hide their true feelings. The truth is, the true character of a person doesn't reveal itself in a matter of days. I totally agree with you that understading is the keyword in this matter, but I just don't believe that meeting someone for a few days will really prove anything. Most people aren't shallow and have many different sides to them, they might show you one side when they finally meet you, but that doesn't mean that you truely understand where they are coming from.

Indeed, I can't wait to meet you IRL so I can hide how much I hate you to your face.Koopiskeva wrote: Most people aren't shallow and have many different sides to them, they might show you one side when they finally meet you, but that doesn't mean that you truely understand where they are coming from.

Things I've observed. West Coast creators are VERY different from the East Coast creators in general and yet on the whole. I wish I was an East coast creator.
The big difference I've noticed between East & West is that on the East coast the creators see each other more, where on the West we have basically 2 real conventions (Fanime and AX) and they are still 6 hrs travel time away from each other. So the creators don't see each other much, much less hang out. To many walls around us.

Nothing is real!!!
How do you know it's real!!!
We only think it's real because of our senses...
Reality is only a figment of our imagination because
our brain tells us it's real. Is this really us?
We're only 1's and 0's here in the cyber world...
Am I really here? Are you really there?
Anyone know what is really going on?
Think about it!!!
Blah blah blah!!!!!! Get back on topic and out of the clouds!
As stated before:
*These were based my opinions and nothing else. If there is something wrong with my thoughts on this matter, don't take it personal because it's just an opinion and not the facts!*
