Cool video there and doesn't seem like you'll quit from this hobby due to demand and competition.

Pussy you not.

Reading this thread, I decided I may upload a video here I never shown anyone because it goes against certain guidelines.. like stealing clips from others. Well that's are hobby is it not?

I'm sure it may get on a lot of folks nerves because I stole their clips.

And after thinking about it for a long while, I decided it'll be hell dealing with all the F'ers.. I did start putting video info in though. Thought I'd share the comment

"I made this video in 2002 on a ship in the middle of the ocean with no anime except some clips and amvs on my computer but I still wanted to edit something so I made this.

This steals a lot of clips from amvs but key lyrics like leaves, rise, down, see, air, rise, kneel down actually have scenes that match them.

Sorry to the anime companies for using clips from your movies without permission but overall I especially apologize to the amvers for stealing their cuts and some scene placements of theirs."

if you properly credit the original amvs to their creators and try to contact and get the permission of the creators, you are allowed to have other people's amvs in your video.

Or do like Kit and add them in as a collab.

I started making AMVs with the intent of proving that I could do video editing using a Free Software system. I made five or six examples of that.

Somewhere along the line I started using proprietary software, which made a couple of things easier, but really killed any motivation I had to keep editing. (The videos I made using proprietary software didn't really end up being any better than my early attempts, either, so it's not like I gained anything out of it.)

However, I'm going back to my roots (as it is), so maybe I'll find another reason to make something new.

It won't convince The Media Professionals or those that consider themselves to be Future Media Professionals around here to switch (or, for that matter, even give the idea of such software the light of day). I learned that my first year around here. But hey, I don't care what they think. I think it's a fun exercise to validate these tools.

So I guess it was never just for me. I always had a point to prove, and I've always had to have that point fly in the face of established wisdom. There is, after all, no point in doing something that everyone else is doing.
