Quicktime 6 final release is out!

Post by Epochof7 » Thu Jul 18, 2002 8:02 pm

Quicktime 6

Well, I dunno, but I got it, and the MPEG-4 implementation rules. I encoded my latest released music video here (Shameless plug) in almost the highest quality MPEG4 available, and the whole vid clocked in at 35 MB, shaving 15 MB off from my previous encode and having a higher level of quality. Wow... I'm happy :)

Any other AMV makers experiences? (And no bitching about the new reg key.... I'm pissed about that too)

Can you actually fullscreen the damn quicktime player this time?
I hatred how you could never full screen it.

wmp4player plays my MPEG-4 videos fine, but QuickTime 6 doesn't.

I tend to believe that means there's a problem with QuickTime 6's MPEG-4 playback options, though I suppose there could've been an encoding problem... But if there were an encoding problem, why would another MPEG-4 player be able to play it?

Well you know, it's the same with Windows Movie Maker for the mac. They claim it can play almost all media types, yet it can only play windows media format. Which really sucks, maybe this is the way mac gets back at microsoft or something.

i was really excited about this, but the final result is not as inpressive as I had hoped. mpeg4 encoding is not very good looking, although playback is awesome. having to pay extra for mpeg 2 playback is ridiculous. familiar keyboard shortcuts have been changed around. bad call apple, this could have been better. and wtf is up with .mac? i like apple b/c they are mot M$, and now they are turning into M$.

eeewww....Quicktime.

in my opinion it sucks as bad as RealPlayer.
as for MPEG-4 on it, not really worth the time. MPEG-1 is still the best as far as compatibility and reliance.
