I need an anime....in space

With the announcement of the new "year of the" it reminded me that I've been wanting to make an AMV in space.

I need an anime suggestion for something with well animated space battles or a space race. I am not looking for something where the action takes place mainly within the atmosphere of faraway planets. The music evokes vastness as well as flight.

Older anime as fine. But higher energy is preferred. The use of mecha is optional. A launch sequence of some kind is necessary.

Space Dandy? That has a lot of planet hopping and fighting, if a bit comedic. There's also Redline, but that's more of a racing cars anime
