Stolen AMVS
Not sure if anyone on here knows about this or has issues with it but I have come across AMV editors throughout the years that have claimed or stolen AMVs that are mine or other AMV makers I know/recognize. My friend recently found out she had her video stolen and the person (through Google translate) claims the video as their own. I am not sure if anyone else might recognize their work from this user.

Also through Google translate, I know its not 100% accurate but they did state and that they'll delete any comments made about the videos being stolen and how they claim "all legal rights" to the videos

Ahh, good ol' DanteD--I've known him since like 2007 I think. Over the years people have always claimed he stole their AMVs, but the fact of the matter is, he doesn't. He actually makes most of the AMVs far before the editors who make the claims. Those who claim he steals their AMVs just have perception disorders

I'm not saying he stole every amv he has made but the fact of the matter is he does steal amvs.
Here is my friends video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21yChQn1IIM
here is him claiming the video is his: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5ZTfTdYnGQ
You can also tell my friend posted her video 1 year prior to his from this past November.
here is another example

here is a fairy popular AMV I recall that has been in some cons,

and here is his

again the dates are drastically different. His are always posted after the original... Its not about re-loading its about claiming the AMVs are their own work.

Re: Stolen AMVS
You appear to bringing evidence forth, in the form of "YouTube Upload Date".... well, this kind of evidence is not sufficient, I'm afraid. DanteD uploaded these videos waaaayyyyy before your friends uploaded their videos, they were just unlisted and not public. It's just that he decided to make them public a year later, and YouTube are only showing the date that this happened on. Your friends obviously somehow managed to gain access to his unlisted videos, downloaded them, and then upload them as their own, before he could set them to public.
I'm sorry to ruin your fantasy story, but no one will bring shame upon my friend, DanteD, as long as I am around. He's a good guy and I don't know what's he's done to deserve the receiving of these false and dangerous allegations.

Happens all the time....usually it's foreign obscure channels you wouldn't see unless you're randomly clicking around and stumble upon them.Sephirothskr wrote:Being completely honest, I didn't know this was ever a problem in the community

Re: Stolen AMVS
I am not saying your friend is a bad person but they are stealing amvs. How can multiple users get an unlisted amv? Makes no sense. I don't know all these users, just one. But the fact is, he is taking them. I don't want to cause much trouble just trying to get some of the org users aware that someone might claim their video that they worked hard on. Its not fair to them and the effort they put in. To only have someone come forth and say I made this when they did not.Enigmo wrote:You appear to bringing evidence forth, in the form of "YouTube Upload Date".... well, this kind of evidence is not sufficient, I'm afraid. I simply want your friend to please take down the work he is claiming is his. But keep his original work that he did not steal. It just seems fishy and far fetched that multiple amvs makers would steal from him and have their videos in higher quality than him if he is the original source. It just doesn't add up. I just want fellow AMV makers on here to be aware of whats transpired and to take this matter in a civil and respectable way. I don't want to harass or hurt your friend. But I do want editors to know that they have been taken from and its not fair to them to be kept in the dark.

Re: Stolen AMVS
Yes I have noticed this. I know its an on going issues but It just pains me to see some people take and claim something they didn't create and get credit for it. I know often times some amvs might be personal or be meaningful tot he said Creator. Its not right to steal. I hate seeing this happen to friends and other amv editors I admire and look up to.AceD wrote:Happens all the time....usually it's foreign obscure channels you wouldn't see unless you're randomly clicking around and stumble upon them.Sephirothskr wrote:Being completely honest, I didn't know this was ever a problem in the community
