How do I make my AMV more popular?

Post by Anime Insanity » Sun Nov 17, 2019 9:11 pm

I am extremely new to making AMVs and having after making my second one ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzxmzJfF3CA ), I believe I did a half decent enough of a job to promote it across some sort of place or to try to seek a little attention for it (idk maybe 100-250 views?). I originally found here thinking I could promote generally but after seeing no sub topic for it besides contests and no one else posting about theirs. I feel as if it might be against the rules here. I tried my best with my limited knowledge of using vegas pro and... yeah I just want to see if anyone knows where I can go to promote it and get honest criticism and support for it.

Thank you!

Welcome to the Org! You're welcome to post your videos in the AMV Announcement forum as long as you catalog it first and follow the rules relating to it

Q: How do I catalog and upload videos to this site?

To catalog a video, go to the “Enter New Video” page located in the “Editors” dropdown menu located on the left side column of the main site. Once you follow the steps listed on the page, and enter all the required information, you will then be able to “request upload permission” by going the the “Upload A Video” page that's also located in the “Editors” dropdown menu. Once you do this, you will have the option to either use the site's web uploader or to upload your video through a FTP client with the information that will be displayed after you request upload permission.

Information specifically on how to use the web uploader can be found here.
Instructions on how to upload videos using a FTP client can be found here.

Rules for Posting Announcements:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.
Code of Ethics for Responding:
  • If you are responding to a video announcement, please try to make constructive comments. If you think the video is bad, tell the creator what is wrong with it and how it could be made better. If you didn't bother watching the video, then perhaps you should keep your comments to yourself.
  • People become better through practice and experience, but peer support and advice can accelerate that improvement. For all you jaded and cynical creators out there, don't forget that at one time or another you were new to editing also.
