Will the true editing Masters-to-be step up?

This is in response to some of the journal entries I've seen poppin' up...

How many of you are new at this? (those of you modest veterans who still think you are new need not apply ^_^)

A new amv editor is one who has been editing for less than a few months (maybe weeks)...

However, I'm wondering, HOW MANY of you read the guides and used a relatively original combination?

[yes, this is a thread for me to see how many non - Linkin' Bark Z editors there are and to finally have flames tossed my way from idiots ^_^]

Who am I looking for?

Are you new and read the guides?
Followed/got help from other amv editors? (I think this is the LARGEST impact on how good one gets as an editor)

Those of you who just made an amv cause "everyone here is doing it" will get VERY thoroughly flamed... I don't think I'll have to put up my own flamethrower...

What I mean as "Got Help" from other amv creators [in depth]

Straightforward: had them critique and opinionate your vids?

NOT walk you through what should be done in Premiere for over 3 hours or so...

I asked some good editors to opinionate my first vids so I'm wondering if others did the same...

WTF is everyone complaining about? So what if people make DBZ/LP vids, they can make whatever makes them happy. As long as people enjoy what they are doing, I dont mind if they make 100 LPZ vids, you don't have to watch any of them. Your elitism is silly and unneccessary.

I'm not in this thread searching/promoting it. I guess you misread what I'm asking for.

Are there any new people here who are making AMVs cause they WANT to? Not cause they can...

My complaint isn't a fact, it's an opinion, I'm just taking a head count.

Oh, another thing, if they're making a Linkin' Bark Z vid, they REALLY shouldn't post them here. I'm also looking out for those who may get hurt. By posting "whatever they want", there's a HUGE chance they WILL get dissed out if they make these DBZ/LP vids. (this is a known fact that it will happen one of two ways... totally ignored, which is fine, or totally attacked and flamed, which I think is not...)

I want to save them the annoyance of getting dissed out by others... Or receiving "vengeance" reviews cause they made Linkin' Bark Z.

I'm a new editor, and I have read the guides, but I started making amvs a month before I ran across the org and its new 'Carrot' plans. I read the guides, but only after I joined, and then I adjusted my amv making methods according to what steps in the guides my computer can use. I never bothered 'good' creators for the simple reason that, until recently, all of my videos had shonen ai content, something that is quite distasteful to a good portion of the population here. I have been lucky enough to have a few people I consider good editors to review one or two of my recent vids. As for over-used combinations, I've done two videos with LP, and I did them vagrantly. I did, however, use a different spin than I've seen, combining the songs with an anime that has yet to have any other LP combinations. Overdone ideas? The two 2 LP videos I made were pure action, but again, I did this in order to have something to share to get feedback - and I was lucky enough to catch a few good editors to help me improve my general sync.

And now that I've told a brief synopsis of my amv making history, why do you ask? I know the topic is better discussed here, but I don't want a flame war. I just don't want to have to stop making amvs because I'm not good enough, or to see other people have to stop before they have a chance to get good enough. And I've been told by quite a few that having their vids reviewed helps in that improvement, so holding their vids until they're 'good' would only slow them down since, I can say from personal experience, improving is hard when you're doing it on your own just from *watching* 'good' videos, especially when your stories don't support the styles being used by other creators.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, a SMART new person... Thank you for sharing and I'm 100% certain your amvs are going to be good enough. [er rather, MUCH BETTER than even you could expect...]
