Horny Asses of Anime
All right: A video of footage of amorous males set to Queen’s Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy. Are you supposed to italicize songs? Well, Kaji from NGE, Brock from Pokemon, Lupin, and Whitney from episode 15 of Cowboy Bebop are perhaps fitting characters that I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe someone from Revolutionary Girl Utena, but I can’t say for sure because I haven’t seen it. That’s a good reason.
What'd ya think?

Mark me down as anal-retentive (with hyphen), but since you did ask:Fronzel wrote:Are you supposed to italicize songs?
No. To be technically correct, you're usually not supposed to italicise song titles. The title of a complete published work, like a book, magazine, or an album of music, is supposed to be in italics. The title of a smaller work that is part of a larger work, such as a song on an album, is supposed to be set in normal ("Roman") type, with quotation marks. So Neil Young's After The Gold Rush is an album, which contains the songs "After The Gold Rush", "Birds", "Southern Man", and so on.
Of course, a lot of songs are published as singles, too, and it would be correct to use italics if you're talking about the single... also, I think an AMV itself should probably get its title italicised because we post/publish them as single works instead of in collections.
I don't think anyone really cares much, anyway.
