What's the "spirit" behind this law?
After going into the opinion exchange and having people ask if I was going to put my old videos up, I was wondering if anyone ever makes an account just for uploading their videos. This way, nobody would associate the idiotic things I say on the forums with my videos. I do this all the time when I watch other peoples videos, and if I do it, I know others would to. I already know that it's stupid so I don't want a lecture. But I should also add that sometimes I like a video more just because the creator comes across as actually being sane.
Just kicking around the idea. I don't know if I'd end up doing it even if it turned out to be okay.

Its mainly in place to

a) stop people from spamming and not getting slapped with a ban and

b) to try and stop people from promising to donate and then going back on it.

But one account means one account, so... one account for you, only.

I have two names: Leanan and Satori. I had previously come to the site using this name and left for a while. I forgot my password and the email I used to use was no longer in use. So I created a new name which was pretty dumb. Anyway I finally remembered my password and started using this name again. I asked for a consolidation, and Phade was really nice about it. I think it's on the list of things to do.

As for the rule, I can see why it's in effect. You should be able to go to the catalog and see all the videos by that same person instead of wondering if they have made them under different names.

I'm not going to lie and say that I only have one account. All of MY videos are under this username, while all of the Mission: Improbable videos are under another account, so people will recognize that as a group effort rather than one person.

Hey, if people haven't wreaked revenge on me for all the stupid things I'VE said, I'd say you're pretty safe. 8)

Besides,

a) anyone who holds the creator's actions against the video is a wanker, because this isn't AMVCreators'Personalities.org

b) many people don't even read the forums anyway.
