American Cartoon Music Videos.. People's opinons?

Hi, I'm pretty new here, and only been making videos a little bit. Since there are so many topics on here, I haven't had a chance to look through all of them and sorry if this has come up before.

Anyways, I was wondering what people thought about american cartoons, like WB and Cartoon Network's newer stuff being either in videos with anime, or just as AMVs themselve. I especially ask because I though of a great idea for a X-Men Evolution one. I was also thinking about an X-Men, Slayers, and a couple of anime one. So basicly, I was just wondering how people feel about Western cartoons paired with Anime in videos?

So long as you feel that you are making a quality video and you are enjoying what you do, our opinions shouldn't really matter during the "creative" process.

If 'n' when the community got around to reviewing a video with such an amalgamation some might quible about it. But really, so long as you are willing to work at improving your skills and accept constructive critismism, you should be okay.

Just be aware that if you make a video that doesn't use any japanese anime you "technically" aren't allowed to upload the video onto the .org local server.

Well, mostly I was just curious. I'll make the video anyways ^_^ I've just run into a few too many anime fans (and one is too many in my book) who are like "ick, western animation is horrible!!! Japanease animation is twenty times better then anything america can ever make." So I was just wondering what people around here thought.

And technically? Well, I did notice some X-Men Evolution videos here. Do they actually check and take that stuff off? Or is do they care at all?

Well, we have those "elitists" floating around here, too. But they are easy enough to ignore, usually.

If "inappropriate" videos comes to Phade's attention, he takes them off.
However, Phade's pretty busy so he relies on the "hope" that people using the carrot are abiding by the rules of what types of videos are appropriate.

go for it. there are music videos using live action hollywood films on this site. i don't think any one will mind an american cartoon music video.
i think phade has requested that only anime music videos be uploaded on the dangling carrot, so you will probably need to find your own storage.

I saw an invader zim video, it was done to MSI's bring the pain. It was actualy pretty good. Beyond that one video, i ahven';t seen any thing else, so as far as i know it could have just been a random fluke that it was good.

I'd suggest doing them separately just because the animation style will blend better with itself than with anime. That said, I say make whatever you want. Though most people here don't know it, being relatively limited to anime, people make videos of ALL kinds of things outside anime. Some AMVers do them as side projects, but there are whole groups of people who do Western fan videos to all sorts of stuff. So if this crew gets pissy at you, just go somewhere else. 8)
