What makes a video re-viewable?
I've been puzzling over this for a long time now. My videos are all somewhat lacking when it comes to the re-viewable factor, and I just can't figure out why. What is it that makes you want to loop a video all the time anyway? (Action sync, length, style, etc?)
Anyone have any idea?

If it's an absolutely amazing video then you'll wanna loop it. I looped Kevin Caldwell's "Believe" video the first time I saw it. ^^
What makes you want to watch an anime again? or listen to a song again? or watch a movie again? It's basically the same thing - and it depends on the person.

Re-viewable is the most subjective thing when comes to an AMV (but basically everything). There is really no "magic formula" to make a video more or less reviewable.
For me shorter length, a catchy song, a moody video done with an anime I love are all positive points... but, as I said, this is just "me"

You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Im the exact opposite of what you just discribed. If I dont like the song but the editing is great Ill watch it over and over, but good editing doesnt always lead to rewatchablity.mexicanjunior wrote:Normally, it's the song that keeps me rewatching an AMV. The video itself could be wonderfully edited but if I don't like the song, I probably won't watch it too often.
Rewatchability is one of them weird things kinda like people who have charisma theirs just something about them that draws you in.

yeah, usually what makes me keep a vid on loop is if its a totally great vid. the flow is smooth, editing was nice and clean, the music is bumping, everything bout the vid just...rocks. its hard to fill that position for a mass of people becuase everyone has their own different taste on what vids they like. usually, i dont' worry too much bout the re-viewability factor.

Not really, I never found a video that made me watch it over and over again. Well only one video and that was your Cheerleader one. That is about the only video I watched over again and the only video on my list of fave amv's.Sierra Lorna wrote:So if a video is good, it's automatically re-viewable?

actually, when i review a vid, i usually keep the vid on loop so i'll see the vid over and over and hear the song over and over to get a general feel for the vid. i usually grade the effort, reviewability, and overall scores last. this helps me determin if i like the vid and willing to keep it to watch it more. if i dont' really like the vid...i usually dump it after i post a review on it. heh.
