Bah, those lists don't mean anything. I don't think it's possible for an anime to be totally tapped out for AMVing. Who knows when someone might do something new, or well done? So make all the damn NGE videos you want, everyone!

On a more specific level, yeah, there are some things you shouldn't do. DBZ/metal, NGE/angst music...theorectically the video could be good, but it's probably just going to come off as cliche.

Wow, with only 2 videos I aready broke 7 of those rules.

6 of the most used Anime/Games
1 of the most used artists (Although this might be counted twice if you count "Offspring" and "The Offspring" twice. Anyway, there are no other videos available that use the song I went with, so it's not so unoriginal.)

there seems to be alot of Linkin Park AMV's out there and of course alot of DBZ (which isnt that bad).

I know these 3 are on the list but i want more Samurai X, Rurouni Kenshin, and Trigun music vids!

Ideas that are based only on the title of the song usually irritate me. Like they saw the title, went "OMGTEHBESTIDEAEVAR!" and didn't bother to, you know, figure out what the song is actually about.

Sometimes the song title will match a concept well in addition to matching the rest of the song, but a concept should be based on more than just the name of the song or the main line in the chorus. Because those tend to be, shall we say, weak.
