AMVz with Subtitle options

Post by The_annihilator » Tue Oct 28, 2003 7:41 pm

After seeing all these new OGM files that have Dub/Sub with Subtitle options ive been thinkin about making a AMV that has subtitle options, so far ive made 2 test files which are done successfully
:D

I'd like to get some feedback on this topic, just really want to find out if its a good idea or not

Do you need to install some sort of software to be able to turn it on or off?
Or am I just misunderstanding you totally?

Ogm is a dying breed. Use mpeg 4 or matroska.

I've thought of doing this myself, but never tried. Not many people seem to use the ogm format, and I didn't want to force someone to download another codec just to watch one of my vids. But if you wanna do it, go right ahead.

Yea you do have to install a program that allows you to turn the subtitles on and off, but some OGMs only require 1 program to be installed (which im trying to find out)

You'd need the oggds and subtitleds filters that are required for playing back ogm and ogm with subs, but those are bad :|

For matroska, you'd need the matroska splitter and I guess dvobsub, for mpeg 4, you'd need the envivio plugin.

you really only need 2 files to get OGMs running, one for gettin OGM to work and another for the subtitles (and of course the codec) and there not that bad, i used to run them on a 450MHz PC and ran fine

Yeah I know  go ahead and use it. I was going to suggest some better formats, but certain factors have made me realize that not everyone is a genius when it comes to this stuff.
