I need some help with Divx files in my AMVs

Everytime I try to put Divx videos in my AMVs they come out black with no sound or anything. Can anyone tell me how 2 put Divx in my AMVs?

If you're talking about DivX and Premiere not liking each other I can't give you any first hand advice, (I've never even tried). So I don't know what to expect if this is the case.

If you must use a DivX source, hack it up in VirtualDub removing any sound, and save it as either Uncompressed (I don't know why), or HuffYUV (lossless compression).

This should also be in video help...

Yeah, declan summarized the thing quite well: don't use DivX in your amv projects.

when you have a fast computer (> 1000 mhz) and too low diskspace for huffyuv-clips you could use divx 3 clips (with much keyframes) without sound in premiere, that works pretty well, i've tried it out.
premiere crashes a bit more often, but it's an alternative

Cause the audio is compress with mpeg 3rd layer... in other words... MP3 format.. but for the picture.. I don't know. Anyway, DIVX sucks for editing, use m-jpeg!
