How to tell the difference between a good or bad DBZ AMV?

Post by Pyle » Mon Dec 22, 2003 12:47 pm

Good AMV: They tell you about the sources used for the video, how long it tooks to make it, the various tools they used, and the content within.

Bad AMV: They spend the entire time praising their video and why you should download it, or they just say 'download my kickass video'.

Is this correct?

A sure fire way to tell them apart is if they spelled the anime correctly.

Bad: I hate it.

In all honesty, it's like Beowulf said... if they can spell the name of the anime they're using, there's a good chance it'll at least be WATCHABLE.

This doesn't apply ONLY to DBZ, but with all the various of spellings (both correct, such as capitalization and spacing issues, but incorrect... such as... "Trunks & Vegeta's Relationship".. or "radish saga")... well, yeah. We've gone into that before :)

This also doesn't apply solely to DBZ, but it helps. Here's a few ways to definitely get me to watch your video, especially if it's DBZ:

- <B>Enter in the video information</B>
This means artist, song, and anime... and enter it all correctly. All of these things are important, and I'd like to KNOW them before I watch your video. "dbz all" is not the name of the show, nor is the saga title, nor are the characters in your video. And there's no such show as "DragonBall / Z / GT."

- <B>Write a description.</B>
It doesn't have to be 00ber-long, but if you put the effort into writing just a little bit about the video, I'll be more apt to check it out.

- <B>Spell things correctly.</B>
We're not talking "DragonBall" vs "Dragon Ball" here. This includes the video info AND the description. Use grammar... it's nice.

If YOU, as the creator, take the (little amount of) time to do these things, I, as the viewer, am probably going to take the time to watch your video.

Then again, those that have the intelligence to do all of the above things without being told are generally those who can make halfway decent videos, anyway.

Agreed,

And on a small note,
VegettoEx's Dragonballz Cooler video was pretty awesome.

One of the best (dragonballz) video's I've seen.

While I (technically) followed my own rules, I highly disagree that a video I threw together in a single 24-hour period should rank among your favorite videos ^^;;;;;.

Thanks, though.. ! Check out "<B><A HREF=http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... 8">Fathers and Sons</A></B>" if you want to watch a good video :P
