Uh-huh. The clips look bad enough WITHOUT compressing them, so do yourself at least that much of a favor and do not, for the love of all that's good and holy use crappy-ass downloaded source.
I think the program that was most successful for me was called PSXTulz; that took care of anything on PS1. I've also worked with PSMplay, which works well for the early FF games (up to 8, though it doesn't work on 9). Google for PS2-ripping programs, as I haven't worked with those yet.
See also this site for a giant mess of PSX-FMV-ripping programs.
If you've played the game, and you should have if you're making a video of it, you already have the FMVs. Rip them. It's so much easier than anime ripping that it's not even funny. If you can't be bothered to even do that, this is not the hobby for you.

I plugged my PS2 into my VCR while I played FFX... sure it takes alot of tapes and you have a Bunch of footage you don't need but you never know what cool scenes you will get. I have about 18 hours of FFx recorded.
Thanks,

lol, 18 hrs?! wouldn't it have been easier to only record the CG scenes or summons if you wanted to use those?
i know it's hard to know the future, but you could play through the game at least once making notes of what you did before a CG scene came on?
Then the next time you play, just press record before the CG scene comes on.
getting the game for PC seems like the easiest way to do it, but how many of the final fantasies have they made for PC?

Hey now, if I ever get a capture card I intend to do a Valkyrie Profile vid that way. If somebody else wants to spend tons and tons of time and effort, that's their business.
Encoding some of FF7-PC's FMVs can be tricky, so I'd say if you have the PSX version and all that PSX software, just do it that way.
7 and 8. I think those are it.Daio Kaji wrote: getting the game for PC seems like the easiest way to do it, but how many of the final fantasies have they made for PC?
