anyone else here suffer from burnout?
well, i've had heaps of good idea's back in the day, but sadly i couldn't interpret all of them fast enough into AMV's. well, now after all this time of making AMV's [of which one day i swear i'll get teh spare time to submit to golden donut] i really can't think of anything else. who else here suffers from burnout, as me and my friends call it, and how do you get over it?

Well when i am in a creative slump i try a few things.
1.Listen to new varieties of music, just turn on the radio flip stations until you hear something that sounds pleaseing to your ears then go and get thier cd and find good songs to use for videos.
2.Watch new anime, both Cartoon Network and Tech Tv play anime watch all of them find something you like buy the dvds make the video with a song you got from step 1 if the anime fits it.
3.Take a break from creating.

I've only made two, one for practice and one actually trying to make something good.
I think the burnout issue for me is hearing the song so many times and watching the same video clips over and over, in the process of making videos.
In the end of the process I create something I would have loved to watch at the beginning of the process. When I finally get finished with making my videos, I'm tired of seeing them.

listening to you talk about aspect ratios and framerates will do that.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Suffering from burnout? Stop doing it. Burnout is simply lack of interest. I walked away from the scene nearly completely for a little over a year. I was so fed up with all the crap that people were putting out, all the complete lack of creativitiy on anyone's part, and total mediocracy forcing what should have been average videos into greatness pissed me off no end. Every time I'd start a video, I'd think 'whats the point' and slowly drifted away from a-m-v.org. I didn't care about anime, I didn't care about videos, I didn't even think of ideas, much less get them on the spur.
But hey, it's a hobby. Over a year later here I am making a new video, and realising why I loved making videos. It's the feeling of a job well done when you make something that you feel is leaps and bounds above everything else out there. ... Or maybe just different. You've gotta find a niche in editing, and I simply remembered what mine was. The Burn out is gone, finally.
