Vca's? Better without them?
So i've seen a ton of negative feed back about the vca's all together.
But i'd seriously like to know,
Would you guy's be happier without them?
I'm not being sarcastic,
I'm not being an ass.
I'm asking a legit question,
Would you be happier without the viewer's choice award's?
I'd like to see what people think.

Nope, the VCA's are fun to me.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Competition is part of human nature.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:So i've seen a ton of negative feed back about the vca's all together.

I don't know.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:Would you be happier without the viewer's choice award's?
Would you be happier without the star scale list? Or the Top 10% list? Or the 'most reviewed' list? Or the the public review scores being listed on everyone's profiles? Would you be happier if the only 'grading' was stars given annonymously and set so no one else knows what you got and all vids are waded through before anyone finds one that just might be good?
It's all competition to me. I think I'm used to it now, so I doubt I'd be happier without it. If nothing else, it would make finding popular vids more difficult. And people would have no reason to care about reviews (which are currently a large motivator for new creators to improve - hoping to improve those scores).
I don't know - I wouldn't be crushed without the ranking, but I wouldn't be happier either. It would be different - not better or worse, just very different. It would be a veritable free-for-all, sort of like fanfiction.net only with amvs - scary.

That went all over the place.
But I think I get what you're saying.

They should stay. I just think that:
1)the one video DQs them all rule
2)the button showing all videos entered
Should be removed for it to be a true viewers choice. I think it would be cool to win but at the rules this year don't make feel that if I win anything that it is what really would have happened had everyone been able to vote for their favorites that were disqualified. It takes away from the fun portion of the competition. Instead Phade has made the contest too serious this year...

I'll simplify it. ^.~Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:That went all over the place.
Name one thing on this site that allows feedback without ranking vids in one way or another. If the site would be better without the VCA's then it would be better without any form of competition. No review scores, no public lists, no AMV annoucement forum where vids with more comments are considered 'better.' It would be an archive, nothing more.
And I don't think that would be better or worse - it would be something else - it would no longer be a community. It would be a library.
