Need a little help here...

Post by OtakuGT18 » Wed Jun 23, 2004 4:36 pm

I need some help. I am stuck with Windows Movie Maker. I've tried submitting my videos online, and don't know if anyone here has seen them because of a problem I have with downloading wmvs online. Everytime I try to, I get this error message, and it doesn't play the video.
So, I'm not sure if anyone's actually downloaded them....I need to know where I can find other, free moviemaker programs so that I can make my videos into "Mpeg" or "avi" format. All you other guys got the goods, so can you help an otaku out, and tell me where to get the GOOD Movie Making tools?

Thanks...

PS: Check out my videos, "Rock Lee Tribute" ("Praise" by Sevendust)
and "Naruto's Clover" ("No Leaf Clover" by Metallica)

Thanks!

Try using EO Video to convert the wmv.

If you haven't already tried, WMM2 has the ability to export into avi if you click on other export options.

But most people buy the good movie making tools themselves.

You can get fully functional 30-day demos of Premiere and other programs out on the net. Otherwise, WMM is probably the best free program out there (unless you run on Linex). I still use it...

Oh! I forgot!

If the avi export doesn't work in WMM2, you could still get an mpeg by changing the file extension from wmv to asf and running it through TMPG.

I so did not know that. 0.0

Thanks for the heads up! ^__^ I had no idea you could do that with tmpgenc.

DO NOT!

I hate EO. When I try to convert, it just sits there with an 18-figure number that repeatedly randomizes the % sign in between each digit. If you can get the software to work, slap the computer and commend yourself for being so smart.

Huh? When I used EO Video, it never gave me any problems.

Of course, nowadays I use TMPGEnc and VDubMod for all my converting needs... but then, I never need to convert WMVs.

actually, when using tmpge, u don't need to change the extension to asf, just select all files whenever you are browsing for the files, and select your .wmv file (unless changing it to asf gives better quality :P) I used to use wmm, and after I switched to premiere, i changed all my .wmv vids to .mpg just because they ran a little better.

Hey Cyanna,

Just tried to re-make one of my videos into AVI video format, I was browsing the "other settings" when I clicked on WMM2 to "make it into a movie"...and just realized something horrible; it'll take up about 1K of memory.

1K OF MEMORY!!! GOD NO!!

This site doesn't let you send in movies that are more than 100 MB (Which is the original Rock Lee Tribute video that I made...about 91 MB, and in WMV format, which means I don't think ANYONE has successfully seen.)

I want its quality to turn out top-notch, yet I don't want it to churn out 1K of the memory on my computer. Is there anything else I can do? I mean...I really want to show you guys my videos. *freaks out like Excel*

Is there any hope...?

P.S. (How do you guys get those cool pics to show up under your names?)
^^; (Sorry, but I feel like a dumbass since I don't know these things.)

Just a few other questions:

1) What do you guys mean by "EO"? What the heck is that?

2) What is "TMPG"?!??

I feel so lost in all these abbreviations. ^^;
