Do you go through "drafts" of your AMVs?
I've thought about this for a little bit. Every time I make a new video, just the next morning I'll find all kinds of mistakes and tweaks that I want to fix. Basically, each video I make feels like it's only a first draft. I know that if I were to let an AMV sit for a day or two after I've "finished" it, I could easily go back and fix what I want and be more satisfied with the final product. However, as I am now, I'm far too impatient for something like that.
So I pose the question: Do you go through the process of "drafts" when making AMVs? Do you edit straight through, and then go back and make fixes and edits as necessary? Do you spend hours experimenting on one segment so it's just perfect before you move on, and find you're permanently satisfied with it, even a month later?

While editing a video, I'm constantly exporting new versions of it (usually after a section is added/changed), so I suppose that could be my version of drafting. Seeing the video as it progresses, I'll notice things that need to be tweaked. Somehow, these things only really seem to stick out after I've seen them repeatedly, so I always make sure and go over my video a number of times before pronouncing it finished. Also, the same can apply after I've seen one of my older, finished videos over and over again. I'll often pick up on some flaw in the particular video, and will occasionally go back and re-edit in order to fix it.

Although I'm new, I have gone through this myself. I went through three versions of my first vid, two before it even became an 'anime' video. My first two were solely gameplay footage. And for Slipstream I have a couple draft versions and the trailer.
I know exactly what you mean about wanting to change the 'finished' product too, I can see some flaws I wish I could change with Chaos Yellin', like that gameplay section in the middle. It's got all sorts of strange artifacts all over it

I'm doing that right now, up to 0.2 of my current vid and waiting for beta feedback. By 0.3 or 0.4 it'll probably be a release candidate, and if there's nothing to fix, it'll be final.
The most drafts I did was for my Instrumental Project video which went through at least... I think it was 7 versions

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I guess I don't have the time or patience for drafts. I put the viceo in movie maker, let it make lots of clips, import the song and find pieces to fit what I feel works. I guess I'm afraid to go back and mess up something that seems right when I first did it. To old to learn I guess.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

Usually two, not counting the occasional random tweeking. The first I show my little bother, we watch for mistakes in editing, scenes out place that sorta thing. After that I'm generally pretty happy with the second verison. But now that I'm adding more and more effects, two verisons just don't seem like enough anymore.

i don't really do drafts once a video is finished completely. during making the video i export it and watch it a lot of times to see if what i did came out the way i wanted it. if it didn't i will fix that part if i felt like it was really necessary. if i passed that part and it's like 5 seconds after or a lot of other footage after i will just skip it. i don't believe in redoing a video once i say it's done and i am ready to distribute it because i wouldn't be able to look back and see how i progressed. my first videos i would completely redo cause i can see so many mistakes but it's because of those mistakes i am reminded of what not to do.
