it sounds like a song heavy on the scenery. i'd have to suggest like Ruroni Kenshin, or maybe Now and then Here and There

You might be able to pull Full Metal ALchemist or even... and this is a long shot but Peace maker Kurogane, again since it is so scenery heavy but the main character's from each of those still have that untouchable quality.
