The Reason = Overused ? The New Bring Me To Life ?

I was going around the ORG cause i really got this urge to make an AMV with The Reason from Hoobastank, but umm ... I can see it's quite ... used o.O

Is The Reason the new Bring Me To Life?

I was thinking it would make a great Meryl - Vash Video, and I think I will put quite a lot of effort into it, since I love both anime and song (actually I love the song a lot more but her it's an anime based site, I dun wanna get sacrificed to the higher-anime-god )

I need feedback ... actually I usually just do it .. like with my last video with This Isn't What we Meant, bu tsong, it kinda IS overused ... I think ... What do you peeps have to say?

I've probably only seen 2 videos using the song "The Reason", so I don't know how overused it is. However, with Bring Me To Life, it didn't bother me that the song was used so many times. What bothered me was that the song was used so many times to make crap videos that showed no effort and just placed random scenes to the music. It wouldn't bother me to see a good video with an overused song. I've seen a few good Bring Me To Life videos and never looked down upon them for using some overused music. That being said, if you're willing to put some effort into your video and make it good, then go ahead and use a song you might think of as being overused.

Well, if you have a strong idea - try it. I'd advise against it if you just sort of did it at random, without having much thought behind it, but if you think you can make a good, meaningful video out of it - why not? It might not be ultra-original, but if you make an enjoyable video, noone will blame you for it

well... I wouldn't call it overused quite yet. If you can do it justice, go ahead, We'll praise you for it if its a good video wether or not the song is overused. Originality, while sometimes a big plus, is not necissarily needed to make a good well received video.

It also depends on why or who your making it for. If its for yourself, (or maybe someone you know likes the song) then who cares? ;p

Hey, I had this really great, long, inspirational post all set up for you, and you know what? I tried to submit it and my computer went out to lunch. *shakes her fist at the computer* Well, let's try again, okay?

Don't listen to hype and don't let anyone tell you that your video will suck just because the song seems overdone. In fact, I just posted the following in a different forum thread: "I think the problem with AMVs is that the quality of each one is subject to opinion. Some people say that overusing a particular song or certain clips from one anime is what makes bad AMVs. This is not true. I have found several amazing videos that were put to a song done 467 other times (that number being an exaction, not an estimate.) On the other hand, I have also seen a video put to a song that has never been done before on this website. It was awful."

Amusingly enough, the '467' song I was talking about was "Bring Me to Life."

With that said, let me just tell you that I think you should make the video, and THEN let it be judged, not the other way around. It just isn't fair. That's like passing a 'guilty' verdict over a court case that's only half over. Go for what makes you happy. Remember, it is everyone ELSE's choice to download your video - you're not forcing them. If they are too narrow-minded to watch a video to an oft-used song, then that is their problem, not yours. You don't need their opinion, anyway.

Hey, I've seen your work before, and it is GREAT. I have the utmost confidence that you will do justice for that song.

thats the song i used for my first video and another i made for someone i really like. it's my favorite song and others had told me it is over used but who cares. i want to see your vid when u finish with it. i say go for it. i'll be looking forward to seeing it.
