ok so as some of you know i am Momochi Zabuza creator of 3 amvs posted on this site. Now i just came out with 2 very recently...a cowboy bebop one and a naruto one. Now the cowboy bebop amv has been posted for 3 days, and it has 90 hits and 30 downloads. My naruto amv, which has been on the site for 1 day has 80 hits and 24 downloads. It might just be me but I think there are much less people who have respect for a more slower and less action packed AMV. This annoys me because I spent more time making my Cowboy bebop AMV and means much more to me than my naruto one. Don't get me wrong I like it and had fun making it, but I can't believe people go crazy about a new naruto amv and not a Cowboy bebop one, because in my opinion Cowboy bebop is a much better series.

Nah, just get over it. There's obviously a bit of a craze over Naruto AMV's, but I think it's best to leave AMV-downloading decisions up to powers that be. Ultimately, it's the viewers' impulse which determines what AMV's to get, and, whether you like it or not, it's not always in tune with your own preferences as far as which is a better AMV.

I suggest trying to promote an AMV that you want more downloads on. Use announcements, op exchanges, and sig links as appropriate

It's probally n00bs who have gone mad over Naruto and have lost interest in other anime. It happens man, we all get frustrated at times. Though, I don't even get people to reply to my thread at the org, I should be complaining.. =/

Working hours on just an 3 minute vid, using your free time to make the vid, and no one replies.. heh, I feel so unloved

Well, that's your opinion MomochiZabuza, nevertheless I like both and rarely compare them.
They both have action but Bebob is very unique (to me).
The feel of it is completely different than anything I've ever seen.
Naruto also has its own niche.
Think you should give both a chance and take it slow.
Creators can never steer the "AMV downloading herd" to the AMV of their choice.
Just be glad you're getting hits AND downloads.
Some don't even get that chance.

See, that's why it's good to make videos for yourself rather than expect response.

Then you only cry if the video hurts your eyes

I think the formula for AMV downloading patterns for should be:

Current popularity of the series / Number of videos available x Quality of the video ^ randomly-assigned variable.

Naruto is on its' way to becoming over-saturated, as CB has been for a while, so, downloads on average-quality videos should gradually drop off.

Or something.

That's a nice and pragmatic formula, Otohiko.
Nevertheless, I don't follow any formula.

Unless you can consider randomly downloading everything in site of the anime I'm most "hooked-on" at the time a formula.
Or just downloading other videos of creators that I've seen that make "good" AMV; of course the AMV has to be of an anime I like.

I see what your saying and i guess it's not ALL bad i mean heck, if i can get someone to say hey that was a really cool video i think ill watch some others of his. And if this leads to the descovering of new anime series for them then i feel my job is done.

Oh but i hate the end to my Cowboy bebop AMV...

it makes me so sad...
