Ever find it tough to 'sit' on a video?

Post by kitsunebeolnet » Tue Oct 05, 2004 6:57 pm

I originally wanted to hold my latest AMV back until Friday so that more people would download it. (I think I've gotten better resonses that way)

But I can't wait! I think I'm giving in and uploading it tomorrow to see who well it goes over NOW!

Anyone else ever been in a similar boat? Wanted to spring loose your creation but also wanted to hang on for a contest or other special occasion?

hmm, my Instrumental Project track is sort of like that; except I'm not really all that tempted to release it - and haven't been since I made it almost half a year ago! Although I've sent it off to a contest once, outside of that few people have seen it; and I'm not really anxious to get it out seeing how it was made as part of the project, and I really would like it to be presented as that first and foremost.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Yeah, I also have released videos earlier than originally intended simply due to impatience. I just look forward to premiering new videos, and often find it hard to wait for extended lengths of time to release a newly finished video. Chalk it up to enthusiasm, I suppose.

Yeah. "These Angel Hearts" was originally intended to be first viewed by a pair of eyes other then my own some time around December 3rd. However in my excitement for him to see it, I let him before it was even competed...and uploaded it to the org on Dec. 3rd instead. So much for THAT surprise. :P

Send it to some people first, see what they think.

By people I mean other creators, good ones. ;)

Otherwise, do as you please but don't expect a video to get rapid props just cause it's new.

i hope you will upload it, ive enjoyed some of your other videos, because although they arent the art of the masters, they are at least different in the song and source, i'd be glad to give a review when its up.

Yeah, I felt that quite a bit when peole were refering to my AWA pro vid in that horror thread. I wanted to upload it but it's also in the Instrumentality project and I'm waiting for the premiere of that. It's been a looong time in the making though, so an extra couple of weeks won't kill me and I'll avoid the flood of AWA videos too.

I'm not a noob anymore. While I'm no 'expert', this time I think I'll make a pretty good impression. (I am developing a small following like deathtoyouall. :D ) Of course, the viewers make the final decision.

To go slightly off-topic, how DO you go about sending videos to others to preview? I know my mailbox has limits and my 'little' 10mb webpage space is not going to hold anything I make longer than 45 seconds.
All I can do at the moment is wind them up and turn them loose...

...but its sooooo much fun.

AIM, similiar type programs, FTP (if either you or they set one up to dl/upload), or get buddy-buddy with someone who will temporarily allow you to put it on their host (giving the link to only a select few).
