I haven't seen a how to guide on director mx 2004, is it a movie making (music video) program? iam quite sure it is, but iam just green as to how i can use it

Well, there's not much demanding you can do for guides on the org.

All guides are written by the users here, so unless someone actually knows that software/hardware like the back of their hand, a guide isn't going to be made for it.

If you have this program, read the manual thoroughly or take a year or two to get to master the thing, the write a guide for everyone else. ^_^

isnt director mx more for online content ? i tried it a while ago. didnt realy see much in it.

It can make movies yet also has built-in paint and vector functions; almost like a combination of Premiere, MS Paint and Illustrator. A big disadvantage I see in using it is that there's only two video tracks, meaning there's little capabilitity for video editing but still possible if all you're doing is cuts and fades or small stuff like that.
Another thing is exporting; you can export it to a .exe format or an .html format, so like Bum said it's intended for online use rather than video-editing. I hope to at least try and make a video using it someday, just for experimentation purposes. :P

It's actually kinda funny that you brought up Director, because I'm in a class totally dedicated to that and Flash. At the moment, I'm working on a big project using Director; a DVD menu for a collection of my videos. :P
