Next revolution in amv creation
I was thinking the other day, about how much Amvs in general have changed over the years and was wondering what the next major innovation might be and when
the first major change that I witnessed was the use of major motion graphics like those used in Euphoria, and I was blown away I had never even thought about doing effects like that before and couldnt even beging to think of how it was done. Another type of efect that I started seeing after the use of motion graphics was the effect of removing character from a scene and placing him/her in some other scene or layering them on top of other footage, I had thought of doing something like that but had no Idea how to or even where to begin.
So I was just wondering what everyone thought might be the next major revolution in AMV's will be or if you have an Idea of something you would want to do but have no Idea of how it could ever be done. and not just with effects but even concept or something to do with the audio mabey
your thoughts?

Here's an elaboration of my opinion. In retrospect, I don't think that one sentence may be sufficient to fully state it.trythil wrote:The next big revolution will come when people stop splooging over one fucking AMV.
Real revolution will only come when people stop trying to rip off the style of ONE video that has since long been copied time and again. When people stop using Euphoria as a baseline and start thinking for themselves, then maybe we'll get somewhere.
This ends the most inflammatory post I've made on this forum.
My, it felt good.
FYI, Eric Kobet was doing crazy stuff with graphical effects and masks at least a year before anyone else. Kevin Caldwell before him, I think. This isn't new stuff; it's just rehash.the first major change that I witnessed was the use of major motion graphics like those used in Euphoria

Yeah, but Koop made one of the more widely successful videos using these effects.trythil wrote:FYI, Eric Kobet was doing crazy stuff with graphical effects and masks at least a year before anyone else. Kevin Caldwell before him, I think. This isn't new stuff; it's just rehash.
If you didn't think they were that great, I'm speaking "successful" as in popularly accepted.

I don't Believe that has anything to do with it.Maverick-Rubik wrote:Yeah, but Koop made one of the more widely successful videos using these effects.trythil wrote:FYI, Eric Kobet was doing crazy stuff with graphical effects and masks at least a year before anyone else. One thing I'd like to see done is a variation on the drop in a character effect. I'd like to see characters combined to make all new characters.
Example: Take say Kenshin from the OAVs, give him Vegeta's hair, maybe change the eye/hair color, drop him in Last Exile and bingo, new character, new story. But that's just what I'd like to see.
