Anime Compilation Project - Songs Needed

Well, I'm finally starting the planning for my eighth video, and I need your help! Basically, what I'm doing is taking a verse and a chorus of a song, and putting an appropriate anime to them (a better description of this can be found on this idea's completed twin, the "Video Game Compilation Project", found here:

So, I need help coming up with good, appropriate songs for certain anime. I'm not too picky when it comes to music. I like nearly all genres, but I do have a few guidelines...
1. keep it within my generation (1987-present)
2. please, no country (sorry, that's the only music type I DON'T like)
3. NO Linkin Park or Evanescence (don't get me wrong, I LOVE their music; I just don't want to fall into that fad, that's all.)

Keep in mind, I only need a verse and a chorus for most of these, so if you think that only PART of a song could work, go ahead and suggest it anyway - just tell me which part you were thinking of. Oh, and since most music usually follows this pattern, I wouldn't mind using a bridge and a chorus either, if that happens to be the part that I like best.

Yami no Matsuei – CKY – “Escape from Hellview”
Yu-Gi-Oh! – Sevendust – “Enemy”

Those of you who have been following my "Side Characters Challenge" thread may notice that some of these ideas came straight from there. By the way, my versions of those ideas won't be devoid of main characters. So, what do you think of what I already have picked out? Okay, I know. It all looks like a bunch of rock/metal music, but I like any kind. That's just my favorite genre.

Well, I hope to get lots of feedback, cuz I need it! ^_^ Oh, and if I get a suggestion I decide to use, I'll remove that anime from the list and repost it so you all know what you have left to pick from.

If it is just cut and paste out of songs:
1. Chorus of Superbeast to Pokemon.
2. Chorus of Barbie Girl to Chobits
3. Chorus of I Shot the Sheriff to Trigun

I'm not sure if you want comedy, but if you do, thiese suggestions are my two cents.

Hmm...nice suggestions, but comedy isn't my forte, so I'd rather stay away from it.

Also, I did a little research (as I always do,) and the first two of your ideas have already been done. So, I wouldn't be able to use them anyway. I appreciate the thought, though! Thank you for taking the time to help. ^_^

Anyway, I did manage to come up with a song for Chobits! I'm going to use "Goodbye" by the Spice Girls. It would be a spoiler to talk about why I made that song choice, so I'll just say this: for those of you who have seen the series, think about the last two episodes. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna use. When I was cycling through my CDs recently, I popped the "Goodbye" single in my stereo (I used to be a rabid Spice Girls fan ^_~ .) As that was my favorite of all of their songs, I wondered if I could do anything AMV-wise with it. I listened to the song a few times on my computer while I was looking at the list I had made on this thread. When I saw Chobits, I was like: "Whoa. It's totally frickin' perfect!" So, this idea was born...

badmartialarts - actually...I'll think about that one. I know that song (who doesn't?) and I was thinking of something along the lines of an eighties song for TB. Since that anime is around that era, it only seems appropriate. Hey, I really respect you guys who think in comedy. It's a trait I wish I had! Also, from other forums I've visited, I know that Merm is trying to get people to do more lighthearted and comedy videos. I certainly agree with that, and a person like you, who can think in comedy, would really be helpful. So, thanks for the suggestion. I'll consider it!

Just going for off the top of my head -

1) Genie in a Bottle - has anyone done this vid yet? Now that I think of it, it sounds kinda *duh*
2) Dream Lover - Have to check who did this song. Yeah, it's an oldie, but well, tough.
3) Umm.. song about fighting with monsters... um... How about "You Can do it (If you really try)" from the Pokemon OST? Nice song, don't think its been done.
4) Heck, there must be a gazillion and one Trigun vids out there, what hasn't been done? First thing I think of is "Wild Wild West" and "Wanted Dead or Alive." You could go with "Smooth Criminal" too, but they've all been done.

Since you said you didn´t want a funny atmosphere this might be a good suggestion. It´s one the Clayman album, it´s a coverversion of some band I dunno. The song is a bit brighter as usual so it may fit very good as well as the lyrics (they are perfect in my eyes).
