Im a new amv maker. i have made two amv's in windows movie maker. and after i got fed up with that peice of crap. i began saving up for adobe premire pro. well i got it and i went into training. im making a new vid and learning at the same time with this new program. I did not wanna go crazy and use effects galore. so i decided to only use overlays. as a transition or just as a beat hit. my question is....is that a good move..or a bad move???

It's really sad how people have come to the point that they think they NEED effects in order to make a good video, rather than doing what they wish. Honestly, it isn't a big deal at all. Effects are useless unless you have ideas. Once you have them, do them if you want. Effects are just editing.

Take a two frame strobe of Gatts (Berserk) screaming and overlay it on top of the entire video. It adds punch

Honestly it is up to you. Feel free to utilize your imagination. Only use the editing program to create a tangible copy for others to see what you had in mind.

I think this comes down to ur own personal style. Videos that have lots of well planned effects to enhance the amv watching experience can turn out very well, and at the same just using lots of cool looking effects with no rhyme or reason will most likely yeild a worse video. Basically, you have to sit down and decide what kind of video you want to do, and then do what you decide, not what other ppl tell you you should do (except when those other people are me .
