A True Battle Royale AMV Contest?
I was thinking about this as an idea that would be great but probably only cons such as AWA could pull it off. It functions similar to the Iron Chef contest but is a bit different in principal.
A number of contestents are chosen and all have to make an AMV. However, every contestent is given a different anime (no two with the same) and have to edit a video to it ussing any song of their choosing but they all have to be the same type of video (comedy, drama, action, whatever). The matchups are one vs one the better video moves the creator on to round two in knockout tournament style. BUT in defeating your opponent you also take the anime they used with them (source footage provided by the con), so in your next round you now have to use BOTH anime in your video. This way the contest becomes more difficult the farther you make it in (unless you're uniquely adept to making videos with Various footage).
Think this would work?

Well you'd have to pick appropriate footage for the style of video beforehand and if necessary you COULD tell the creators but that would defeat teh purpose of emulating Battle Royale. You didn't get to know what weapons were distributed off the bat, you just had to find out as you went.
Hey, if it works in a fight to the death it can work in an editing challenge
