Looking for a upbeat, instrumental song
I'm looking for a upbeat, instrumental song, preferably without strong, noticable beats. I'm using it for background for a speaking part in my video, and don't want to have anything that really stands out as if it were something to be synced to.

how about bond?
How about the group "bond"? They do all instrumental music (sometimes w/ people in the background, but it's all background stuff.) They're technically classical pop, but they're much more than that. I highly recommend any of their albums, (I've got 3 out of 4!) but I like their first, Born, the best, with their 3rd, Classified, coming an extremely close second. ^_^ They've got awesome beats and impeccable percussion. Probably the song "Victory" on Born will suit your needs best, there are a few vids out there with that song, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Sorry to write such a long post, but too few people know about such a great band. ^_^ Sessha will go now.
Wake up. Otherwise you will die.

Here are some good instrumental tunes just off the top of my head:
"Flying" by the Beatles (from Magical Mystery Tour)
"Dark Moon, High Tide" by the Afro Celt Quartet (from the soundtrack to Gangs of New York)
"Of Helplessness" by Elliot Goldenthal (from the soundtrack to Heat)
"God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" by Moby (from the soundtrack to Heat)
"Already Dead" by Thomas Newman (from the soundtrack to American Beauty)
For that matter, I'd recommend almost anything by Philip Glass (you might try his soundtrack to the movie "Koyaanisqatsi") or Tangerine Dream (you might try their soundtrack to the movie "Sorceror").
Whaddaya think?

Zero 7's songs are pretty without a lot to 'grab' the ear (that's why they are uses as background music on TV shows). Even their songs with lyrics are usually lyric-looooong instrumental break-lyric-break-etc. so it'd be easy to get a longish segment without singing.
Life's short.

I can e-mail you the Rogues of Scotland. It's all drums and bagpipes, so it's got a way noticable beat and no words. It's also way upbeat.
