Opinions on the best of the best!
I finally have a good idea, but I want to make sure I do my absolute best on it before releasing my very first AMV. This is completely opinion based, so please don't argue about the question I'm about to ask...
What are the best Animes (both classic and new) to date?
I am using BEAUCOUP d'Animes for this one, and I only want the 'BEST' there are. At least according to those who have actually done AMVs before. *hehe*

That is one of the weirdest requests I've heard yet. There's not really such thing as "The Best" because everyone has different tastes.
Granted, if I may give my humble ideas...
...you'd BETTER have Escaflowne, several Gainax titles from mostly the 90's (Nadia, Evangelion, KareKano, Aenobashi, FLCL), and of course my humble personal favorite anime, Monster.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

You forgot to mention anything by Miyazaki. Princess Mononoke is the first to come to mind, Spirited Away, more recent..
Full Metal Alchemist is popular these days and at the top of my list.
Me likee Fruits Basket, Yu-Gi-Oh, Inu-Yasha, Digimon, Pokemon.
Are you looking for *popular* anime? *good* anime? Well-rounded *staple* anime?

Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

Oh, and CardCaptor Sakura! Ruroni Kenshin...
Sorry for the double-post.
Stop me if I try again.

Slightly modified Full Metal Jacket dialog wrote:"What did she say?"
"She says otaku anime too beaucoup."
"Well, excuse me ma'am. What we have here is a fine piece of pure Lain DVD. It ain't too damn beaucoup."
Life's short.
