Are Linkin Park AMV's jaded?

Post by Larcabre » Fri Jan 27, 2006 1:41 am

I don't know if I'm really out of place saying this, being the obligatory newbie and such, but BASCIALLY, if I download AMV's from limewire, at least 30% of the AMV's are Linkin Park, the other 10% Evanescence, the rest are a cool blend of band's I've never heard of and other popular artists.

I hate to say it, but I've (personally) yet to see a Linkin Park AMV that I thought was good, and I see many of them floating about mr. internet. At Anime Conventions AMV Showrooms are packed with Linkin Park videos and all the ones I saw at last year's local convention - well they sucked. And I think that's putting it fairly nicely.

Maybe there are good Linkin Park AMV's out there, but I've yet to see one.

I mean, I understand making an angsty video is fun and all, but honestly. Linkin Park is probably the last band I would ever consider personally for an AMV because there are just *so many* of them out there.

Linkin Park itself isn't a half bad band, either. But they are pretty jaded at this point, at least in my eyes. Not just for AMV's but I think their fame has run fairly dry. Meteora was pretty poor compaired to the one before it.

I would say the same for Evanescene, but they haven't been around quite long enough to make a fair statement.

Do you guys think Linkin Park AMV's are jaded, too? No offense to anyone who's ever made them, this is after all my *personal* opinion. Maybe there are some good Linkin Park ones out there, but I've yet to see it.

I avoid using any Linkin park songs because they are so common in AMVs. It's not that I don't like them, but they are, well, overused. My second AMV that I made was to Linkin Park's 'In the End,' which is probably the most common song to use for AMVs. So since then I haven't used them. There are, in my opinion, much better bands to use for AMVs.

MeriC made a good one to Ayashi no Ceres/ Cere: Celestrial Legends.

She made one to Dragonball Z about Trunks, also. It was kind of good, but is one of her old ones, so not as good as the Ceres one...

Anyway, Linkin Park is a popular band, so obviously people edit to it. Of course it's jaded.

Lesson here is: Don't download AMVs from Limewire; you've better luck finding good AMVs on Youtube and the .org.
