Do you actually WATCH "LinkinParkZ" videos?
I mean, we all spend a bunch of time complaing about those videos that are "Overused".
Well if they ARE so overused, bei t song or video, why are we watching them if it bores us?
And if were NOT watching them... then why are we complaining about stuff that we don't even waste our time on?

Because people want to think that they're better than at least one other person. When you're new or not very good, you show that you "get it" by attacking easy targets, so that you feel above something. Anything.
Besides, next to porn, the internet is for bitching about things that either don't affect you or don't matter at all. Gives people something to talk about.
Human nature, really.

lol
It´s a matter of growing up with editing: You can´t stuck on one singel genre for years or your whole amv life. I realiszed it after two years *cought*, but I was really a anime noob and only knew dbz and nothing else (blame austrian television for that).
Getting out of the little box you are in at the beginning (I think that a lot of people are in such a box when they start editing) is very important.
And yes I´ll buy the next record of LP, because I really like them. Oh yeah... nice times are coming up:
Imagine the announcment forums with alot of Naruto/FFAC pairings. *shock*
lol
I that´s what I also think. You get too easy anoyed of another DBZ/LP amv. 6 years ago I had alot dbz amvs on my harddrive and... well the majority of them were better than the rest of crap I had (man... good old .rm times xD).guy07 wrote:I totally still love LP, still watch LP amvs when it's a editor i trust to not make another to make a DBZ/papercut in wmm amv. =trueI would just like to hope that people have more creativity then to make a video using an anime and artist that's been used hundreds of times before. :\

I watched a couple a few years ago. I didn't like them then, and I don't like them now. Not just because I'd gotten out of my 'DBZ is so coool!!1111LOLWTFBBQ' stage by then (actually, I never was in that stage; I always thought Robotech > DBZ x1000), but because even at that point Linkin Park was overplayed, and most of those type of videos just weren't very well-edited. After a while you just start ignoring it but can always point to it as being overused and an example of 'what not to do', which is where most of my eye-rolling on the topic comes from.
I don't really have anything against DBZ or Linkin Park individually (even if they are easily ridiculed) - but the videos using them better be damn good - like HurQlez's LP/Eva videos, or Katsumi_AMV's (Paulo's) DBZ/Queen video.

A lot of people here complain about those match-ups just because they have to share space with them. It's like having a yardsale coat hung up right next to your blazer. What the hell is that thing doing in my closet? Wait a minute and someone will point out that it's not your closet, and that, by the way, your blazer is a piece of crap next to that 15 year old cashmere in the corner.
Me, I like Linkin Park. I came onto the 'music scene' a year or two after they were "unpopular for being so popular". Same thing with DBZ. It didn't matter. I still liked the music and the anime. I've watched a lot of LBZ vids that were crap and that's too bad, but I'll still make one myself if I want to.
You might see me rolling my eyes IY vids, or sudden influxes of Ouran HC, Haruhi, etc "anime of the month" videos. But I do it because I don't want to watch them, not because I don't think the creators had a right to use the same thing all their friends are using. As long as the people making them don't complain when I use my favorite 'been there, done that' sources, it's all good.
