Your Fav [anime for] AMVs
I was surprised when I browsed (rather quickly) and didn't spot this topic or one like it. ( I apologize if this was covered already)
What's your favorite anime to make AMVs from and why?
Also, of what anime series' do you enjoy watching AMVs of?
Do you make vids of series' other then Anime?

To make amvs from: YYH. Because it's my favorite anime. The reason I started making amvs is because I got a dvdrom and I already had the series on dvd. There were only three YYH amvs downloadable here back then so the moment I got a dvdrom I hurried to fill that void. I don't use it as much now because the animation style is so old, but it's still my favorite series to work with. I know every scene in it. ^_^;
To watch: Naruto. I prefer watching romance videos but there aren't many with the pairings I like. So I default to action vids featuring bishonen characters. Naruto vids are full of that. I also like Sailor Moon vids, but there aren't very many good ones to watch.
Non-anime vids: No. I do like using game footage in multi-anime vids. I've thought about doing some non-anime vids - got a capture card so I could use my vhs collection (which is huge compared to my dvds), but the effort involved in just getting the footage was too much. I'm too lazy.

Well, I don't really have A definate favorite anime, but I do have certain aspects I tend to do from every anime.
Minor characters, I love minor characters, I feel that they don't get enough respect, so pretty much I make vids from all my favorite animes but I tend to like to give minor character's vids.
I do enjoy making S-CRY-ed vids though, pretty fun series. I would also say YYH, but Inverse and Ari have beaten me at so many things I wanted to do :p

Err, didn't see the other questions
Watching: Any of my favorites, I like watching vids where I like the series so thus I connect more with, basically the same ones I like to make from I like to watch.
Non-anime: I haven't DONE anything, but I would like to do one on the Mad Max trilogy, I feel that would be pretty awesome to do, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Re: Your Fav AMVs
The most fun I've ever had making an AMV was with footage from Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised In Our Early Days. I think the reason for this is because both animes are so darn pretty to look at - they're colorful and vivid, and it really made putting the video together more enjoyable simply because I never got sick of looking at the same scenes over and over again.SuperSaiyanCannibal wrote: What's your favorite anime to make AMVs from and why?
On the flipside, using footage from Serial Experiemnts Lain was much more challenging, because the clips got really boring after a while; Lain is a very washed-out anime with less vibrant colors, and sometimes making that video got boring for that very reason. I tried to start a Grave of the Fireflies video recently, and couldn't edit that for even half an hour, despite all the ideas I had for it. I'm sure I'll get to it eventually, but GotF is just so dull visually that it was hard to really find motivation.

Well... I haven't technically made any full "anime" videos, assuming we're using the extremely narrow definition of it. I do videogame projects. I find that footage not only easier to work with, but it takes up a lot less space (usually), so I could do several projects at once if I wanted to. As for "real" anime, I've always wanted to work with X (TV), and I have a billion and one AMV ideas for it, too.
I love seeing VGMVs to games that don't have a lot of recognition. Even better, I like it when I sift through a sea of bad videos to a popular game (Kingdom Hearts, anyone?) and I finally find one terrific gem amongst the rocks. For "real" anime, I'm still waiting to see more great Tsubasa videos. We're sorely lacking them.
I haven't worked with anything other than anime/games yet, but I have an interest in doing a Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or Tomb Raider movie video. Games turned live action makes me go o_O in curiosity.

I don't have a favorite anime to make videos too..
I guess maybe akira and evangelion because that's the most amvs I got.
You know for a long time my favorite amvs to watch is ones with flcl in it. This was waay before I even got the chance to watch the series. I guess based on the scenes I saw, I didn't worry about spoilers or anything.. I saw a lot of them..
then the next amv addiction was naruto and still is. At very first when I jumped into amvs it was dbz(bleh).. so yeah
and if you want to know what my favorite amvs are.. check my top 100 list
