What do you think of taking one old AMV and recreating it using another anime? Does that lose a lot of points in originality?

You should be careful though if you are going to copy someone's style I've seen some editors get mad about those things, but it became worse when they were both entered into the same online contest. O.o

I'm not saying that you HAVE to or anything but it might save you some drama if you ask the editor of the original video for permission to do it.

However it would probably be a good learning tool imho.

I've seen people completely remake his vids (same song, "same" editing, higher quality)... I wouldn't worry too much.. plus that's a proxy account, I donno if he was ever on this site O:

Uhm... If you take a different anime it makes it completly different. Oh. Thx to Katie. She posted a good example with Chihuaua (I don´t feel to put some effort into this word to spell it right xD ).

I think that old amvs can be a great source for inspiration. It really depends on how you do it. One big bad exmaple is this video that is an ordinary bad copy of this one. It´s even more sad when he didn´t copied some effects because he wasn´t able to make them -.-'

I would still try. It could be interessting for him to see how he actually still influences editors today.
Keep your eyes open. A lot of his work got remaked from different editors over the year. You might just make another copy xD
