Vids that went overboard

Post by CaTaClYsM » Sat Jan 11, 2003 5:40 pm

can the AMV elite explain how to tell when a video went overbaord on the effect? how to tell when you went TOO DAMN FAR! (like using the fade effect 60 times in a 5 min video.) stuff like that.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

If, after watching the video about 50 times you say "jesus fuck I went way overboard" then you went overboard.

Screw that term! If a creator chooses to consistently apply a certain effect onto something, he should have that freedom to do so. You're allowed to have your opinions on whether or not he/she did something too much, but that doesn't mean that you're right, it only means that you prefer it to be that way and not so abundant.

To me, a creator should not be limited to what others think should be appropriate. Only the creator should decide whether he/she has reached his/her limit.

Fair 'nuff.
By the same token, the audience and viewers are free to switch it off and destroy the media, right after "ORANGE" has been flashed on the screen fifty times.

Exactly. Nobody is forcing you to watch anything you don't want to.
