What think your friends and family of amvs?

Well, most of my friends like my amvs, my father was the one who taught me how to use software for editing, my father thinks that amvs are a waste of time ..

My mother if you like AMV (She does not know my amvs Yuri) my mother liked him much of the AMV Chiikaboom "Attack of the Otaku"

In general almost all my family and friends know that I do amvs ...

2 of my friends know and my parents know, but they aren't all to interested, so it's no big deal.

There is a really only a couple people outside of people from the AMV community that I consider friends...and they know about my AMVs and are actually interested in getting into the hobby.

As for my family, my brother used to make videos and wants to give it a shot again and that's all I'm going to say about my family >_>

Family couldn't give a shit about them. My friends in real life don't care either. My best friend in real life does have some form of interest in them but not that high.

When I was living with mom, she appreciated all the time and effort that Wonka and I put into these things. She's never seen anime, but she appreciated the editing and artistry and all that. She even let me drop out of school so I could sit in my room for almost two years and make AMVs (Dead to the World).

I showed my dad Dead To The World, and after the berserk section he said "Holy shit! Talk about a climax! Wow son!"

I earned daddy's approval 8-)

My dad thinks of them as mashups, and then largely ignores them.

As I'm sure is relatively common around here, my parents have always been very interested and encouraging when it comes to the hobby. Of course I typically only showed them my own videos, but every once in a while I would show my mom a video or two. I remember one time when I showed her MJ's Grave of the Fireflies video and she was just like "wow......... that should really win an award somewhere." She was a fan of the song already so I'm sure that helped, but it was still fairly surprising to hear her react that way.

My family are anywhere between dismissive and hostile toward AMVs, very unsupportive and think I'm wasting my time on a childish and potentially illegal hobby.
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I've had my dad roll his eyes at my shounen-ai videos - but I caught him looking up some rather interesting porn so he can shove it about that O: he seemed to like my other videos though, and kinda has a bit of non-interest, however now that he works in a photolab and has had all sorts of information about copyright we have something in common that we can talk about.

My oldest sister expressed interest in making them herself, however she has a life and stuff, and yea, she is a mother of 3 kids (soon to be 4) and likes fantasy anime. She tends to like my videos.

Her oldest daughter requested my "Whole Dawn" video and has interest in making her own, she is 12... Her younger daughter had a hand in requesting my "I'm With You" video and requested my "Butterfly" (Avatar: The Last Airbender) Video. Her youngest son is still too young to care, and well the soon to be 4th one, she's pregnant currently so yea...

My middle sister (mother of 4 kids) has no interest in making amvs but she loves them and has an account on the org. She generally will download anything I direct her to, she has similar taste to me.

Her kids haven't expressed interest in making videos, but her oldest son had the main request for "I'm With You" - I think he likes that song cause he can sing with it. He also really likes my "A Little Game of Cat and Mouse" video. Her second oldest son at the time I was taking requests couldn't think of a song... and he seems to like to passively watch videos when they are on. He likes my "The Day Sora Went Crazy" video that's not listed here cause it uses in-game footage only. Her older daughter likes my "A Heart's Confession" (Disney's The Little Mermaid) video and Zarxrax's "Hello, Kitty" video and anything that has magical girls and pink and colors and sparkles no matter how bad they are. She has no taste. And her younger daughter is still a baby not yet a year old.

All of my friends - they are amvers. Well pretty much...
