I have two concepts, but I need songs...

Hey, all, I'm fairly new at AMV making, but I have two ideas that I need help with.

The first is a present for a crazed Yaoi fangirl friend of mine who wants a Loveless video, specifically a Natsuo / Yoji vid (the male zero units). I'm having a really hard time finding a bratty or precocious or tongue-in-cheek love song that would fit them and work with the tiny bit of footage the series give you of them. I tried "Under the Rose" by H.I.M. and I'd considered some Broadway show tunes, and even tried some Gloria Estefan, but so far nothing is really clicking.

Also, I have a Kyo Kara Maoh! video I really want to do. It's takes place near the end of first season and the beginning of the second, when

Conrad is presumed dead / pretending to be a traitor.

Most people who do videos on this timeframe focus on Yuri's perspective, which is cool, but I'd rather do one from Conrad's POV. The best song I've come across so far, that conveyed what I wanted, and wasn't "I'd Die for You" by MercyMe (I'd feel really dirty using a religious song for this), was David Cook's "I Did it For You", but it still doesn't feel quite right. I want it to be a kind of an I'm sorry / I'll protect you from afar / this is for the best kind of song without being really romantic. It's been suggested that I use WWII songs about having to leave, but I've had a hard time searching for lyrics from those and I don't have a lot of 40s music on hand to listen through.

I know these aren't easy questions, but I'd really appreciate any and all input. Thanks!

For the Kyo Kara Maoh idea... "Toy Soldier" is a song that came to mind... As well as "You Needed Me"

Not sure what to suggest for the male Zeros, though...

While both are great songs, they're not quite what I'm looking for. Toy Soldiers is more of a "I knew you'd leave but I loved you anyway" song to me.

I love "You Needed Me" to pieces, and it would make a great Conrad video for just after the time period I'm aiming for, thank you for reminding me of that one, I haven't heard it in ages. Only problem is for this video I need a song where he's already left, but is looking back saying I still love you, and I'm doing this for you, without being out-and-out romantic or wondering why he left. If such a song even exists.

Thank you for that, though. I might have to use "You Needed Me" for a different Conrad video now.

I did some more looking in my music library and here's another suggestion
How's it Gonna Be - Third Eye Blind I can see it as what Conrad tells himself at that time because he has seperated himself from Yuuri and is looking like a completely different person.

Good for You - Third Eye Blind More of a "I want to be there, but I can't"

The Background - Third Eye Blind - The Drunk girl part is so off but the rest of it seems suitable...

Halfway Home - Jason Mraz

Sorry that I don't have ideas for Natsuo/Youji... I'm more of the sentimental type musically ^_^;

I saw a Loveless amv with the male zeros to "Happy Together" and tried to find something that had the same feeling, cheerful, fun songs, but that you could do with irony if you wanted.

Possibly Hand of Sorrow by Within Temptations for KKM. I mean, to the extent that it's sort of a love song I wouldn't like it cuz I can't stand any couple other than Yuuri x wolf but the lyrics may fit what you're describing. Especially the bridge when you can hear the lyrics really well:

TerraRose: "How's it Going to Be" would be perfect, if it wasn't about walking out on a really bad relationship >_<;. "Good for You" always struck me as a stalker song, so if I didn't have that hang-up, that would probably be really good for the video.

scarletrhodelia: Actually, a perky song with a good hook would be great for the Loveless video, but it has to have a tongue-in-cheek quality, or a snarkyness, just a little bite to it to fit their personalities. "Karma Chameleon" is kind of on the right track, since it's a perky song without being a cheerful, happy song, but the rest don't really seem to fit their relationship as I see it.

Kanti13: I actually did consider "Hand of Sorrow", and another one by Within Temptation, "Frozen", but I'm probably going to (eventually) use both of them for different videos, so I'm holding off until I'm sure I can't find anything else. There's a Cascada song, "Could it Be You", that I also toyed with, except it's too romantic. I guess I'm just too picky.
