Creepy music anyone?
I'm looking for something either instrumental or along the lines of Manson's Sweet Dreams cover, but less cheesy and overused (which is probably why I don't know of it yet) any suggestions would be helpful.

Define 'creepy'
Horror video material, basically?
Horror video material, basically?
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Instrumental gothic\lovecraftian horror music.

I've got dibs on those three though.

There are different kinds of creepy but here are a few that come to mind:
A Perfect Circle - Renholder (instrumental)
A Perfect Circle - Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums Its a long song some lyrics but not a lot. This song is more like scary as hell than creepy though.
Count to Six and Die is a creepy Manson song that's not overused.

Tori Amos's cover of Eminem's "97 Bonnie And Clyde. The undistorted version is very creepy.

If you mean horror type creepy then try raiding the soundtracks of pretty much any horror game or movie. The silent hill soundtracks have a fair amount of creepy to them.
If you mean creepy as 'Good lord, the fact someone would sing this is rather distrubing' try this. It disturbs the hell out of me at least, mostly cause of the facial expressions though.
If you mean something dark and guttural like Manson's sweet dreams, try Type O Negative. I don't know what exactly you're going for so I can't suggest a song, but in general they have the same tone to their songs that Sweet Dreams did. A quick google search also shows some other songs similar to Sweet Dreams

Oh, almost forgot, also try the soundtrack to Pan's Labyrinth. Largely instrumental and rather creepy.

Re: Creepy music anyone?
Thanks for the reply guys.
Kit-thanks for the suggestion but I don't think a live track will really work for what I'm looking for, I have always had a soft spot for Tori Amos though.
heh Vivaldi why give me suggestions if you don't want me to use them? I didn't listen to your tracks in case I really liked one and tried to rochambo you for it =p
Kanti13- Some good suggestions there, not quite what I was looking for (I know I'm picky, but I'm just looking for ideas and to see whats out there) What I like about the song I mentioned, and what I'm really looking for is something that is creepy at one point then turns hard, so you have the slow creepy suspense build and then the harder stuff during the chorus.
godix- pans labyrinth is actually a great idea, while I am looking for something with lyrics I loved that movie and might reconsider once I listen to the tracks. Checking google was a good suggestion, I didn't think to do a search for similar tracks. As for the vid, they will never recapture the magic that was dick in a box. Also if I was going to go that rout I'd go with something more realistic.
As for the Type 0, good suggestion though I know most of their songs by heart (My s/n is even a line from one of them, Black #1 "Her perfume smells like burning leaves/every day is Halloween" and nothing really jumped out at me to fitting. But definitely right track.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm going to listen to these over a few more times
Basically yeah, I wanted to make a gore/horror vid and the only song that I thought of that would fit was Manson's sweet dreams... but I really, just don't want to use it, so I was looking to see if anyone had some suggestions.Otohiko wrote:Define 'creepy'

If you're still taking suggestions, there's Didn't Leave Nobody But the Baby From the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, Battle Against the Clown, Kaneda, or Mutation from the Akira soundtrack, and possibly A Silhouette of Doom from the Kill Bill Vol. 2 soundtrack. I thought I'd have more suggestions, but I might have to pull out some of my old CDs.
